RBP3 [SPOILERS] Hannibal of Byzantium (Bobchillingworth, ManiaMuse & SleepingMoogle)

CivStats makes it fairly obvious heh:

No one else was logged in at the time, so it must have been Krill. I'm guessing he spotted the empty capital and decided to take advantage of it.

Turn 13: There were no score increases this turn and the event log and demographics didn't show any changes either. I moved Jenkins back on the red scouting path for now, so he is 3 tiles away from the capital again. Nothing interesting was revealed, but no sign of tundra or ocean to the north so far.

2 More turns and we finish our first Worker.

Turn 14:

Both Exploit and Krill's scores increased to 34 this turn.

Rather than move the Warrior one tile west, I sent him SW instead. The tile he would reveal otherwise will still be revealed on the next move, and this brings him within our borders again for a turn.

Still no contact with other Civs so far.

The turn rolled over really quickly this time. And this one might be more interesting than most so far.

We finally finished our first Worker, Anoleis. He has moved onto the Rice tile and will start building a farm next turn. Research in the Citadel has switched to a Warrior; for now the sheep tile is being worked for some extra production.

Since we still haven't made contact with other Civs, I think it was safe enough to move Jenkins out of the city borders again, and he found Corn right away!

That NW area is starting to look very nice, and we should definitely consider this as a city site.

There were no score increases this turn, and no city has grown in size. Everyone who started with a worker should finish it this turn or the next though, so we should start seeing bigger cities before too long.

Yay, finally some more food. I say plonk a city on the plains to the W of the warrior, farm/mine the lot and do nothing but crank out military.

Turn 16: No contact or score increases. Anoleis started working on a Farm, which will finish on T20. In the meantime, Jenkins keeps on finding presents in the NW:

Those are floodplains peeking out of the fog to the west. jive

How far from the capital do we plan to explore once we get the second warrior? I imagine the second warrior will need to be used to cover the worker in case any rival units appear out of the fog so our defence still won't be too hot.

Personally I think the original warrior should do a slightly bigger loop rather than heading off in one direction looking for other civs. We really need a good enough idea of all the surrounding resources before we settle our second city although that would probably delay contact for even longer...

Jenkins will be on the desert hill south of the city when the second warrior is created if we follow the current plan. I agree that keeping him close to explore the immediate surrounding area is probably best for now. Given how promising the NW tiles are right now, we could have a look at the south, and then make a U-turn and circle back to to the NW in a wider circle. We can't really plot that at this point, but I'm fairly confident we can have most of the NW defogged by the time our Settler is built.

It looks like the turn rolled over already as well. I won't have Civ access until the late afternoon, so if you are able to play the turn, please go ahead. smile

It's interesting how fast the turns are going right now. smile Less than 12 hours have passed since I made the previous moves.

Turn 17:

No contact from other Civs. Morgan and team SsS both increased their scores to 34 this turn.

Scouting continues to reveal interesting terrain:

The tile west from that desert mountain is another floodplain. We also found another happiness resource close to the capital, as well as another river to the SW. The current makes it look like it empties out into the lake to the south.

Farming continues as planned, and should complete in 3 turns.

Wow, another sub 12 hour turn...actually it must have been even less that actually. Anyway since I haven't had so much time to log into the game recently I'll log in and move Jenkins. The signs saying where he should move to are really useful btw.
