Hi everybody, first of all thanx for this great patch. love it!
but only one question concerning difficulty settings: how is "extreme" in between "hard" and "impossible" settled?
i see that there are 15 picks für each enemy wizard, like in impossible. but how are the bonuses managed. is it 300 percent like in hard, or more? seems to me, that bonuses are higher.

Are there any plans to tackle balance issues with this patch? IE: Klackons, Lizardmen, and Kobolds generally sucking? Or is this discussed in another thread? Forgive me, I only just discovered this forum.

Per kyrub, balance issues are not within the scope of insecticide. Just bug fixes.

i love kyrubs work here. i hope he keeps doing patches only, and doesn't start to include mods (like he actually already did) - or makes them optional, or at least moddable by other modders.
dance!

Afaik, extreme is different this way: the computer wizards have half strength of the army when attacking the neytral cities on impossible. but it have full strength on hard. And full on extreme also.
The bonus on extreme is 300% also.
but, i like the full answer from the author.
The game crashes at moment when no city has an just returned wizard , but outposts only. -its an old vanilla bug.

The "extreme" level is identical to "Impossible" one with only one difference:
the bonus for Gold, Mana and Food is only 300% on Extreme level compared to astounding 400% on the Impossible one.
The rationale for inserting such a level was simple:
- the step between Hard and Impossible bonuses is immense (200% << 400%, 13 < 15 picks), so that often players complain that Hard is too easy and Impossible is frustrating.
- I wanted to conserve every other features of Impossible (like 15 picks for opponent wizards) to keep the game challenging

Hi
Thanks for this wonderful patch. There are still about 100 bugs; are you still working on this project? If you would like me to make a list, I can do that.
Thanks

1. I am not working on Insecticide currently (honestly, I am in a way fed up with the game; despite it being so original, it's also very unbalanced and frustrating in its own right. So I do consistent and deep modding instead, maybe one day it will see the light.). On the other hand, a concise list of remaining Master of magic bugs would be a very good thing! It could probably push my laziness to do something about the most pregnant issues. So if you feel like it, Nathan, go ahead and create one. TwillightSparkle and others may join you.
2. But if you do, please, avoid this forum. Forums are generally very bad for cooperative work and concept discussions, as I found. Few pages later, we forget what was important and get lost in an argument. I very much prefer to use share documents online, like Googledocs. That would be great and we could put a link here for others who would join the effort.
3. For every bug, a documentation save is MOST welcome. It can be put in the Googledocs document supereasily. I still have a few such saves from here on my harddisk, they are pretty essential [once I can overcome etc.].

Thanks for the reply. I'm sorry you're frustrated with the game. I still play it almost every day, sometimes for hours. I've been playing it since it was first released, off and on
I use Google Docs for everything and that's already what I'd planned.
3. What do you mean by documentation save? I don't understand this last part.
I will start the list after some sleep.
