Thanks for the advice, RefSteel!
One additional question to you or any lurker: What is the easiest way to post screenshots of the game to the forum? Use Imgur/Photobucket/Dropbox?

After giving it a bit more thought, I see no reason to not take hunting with this start.
I confirm these as my picks for the game:
1) Thessa of Ljosafar as leader + civ
2) Hunting as starting tech
And now we wait for others to make their choices. I'm sort of hoping for no one else to pick Svaltafar, so there would be less competition for Fellowship of Leaves religion. Then again, it would not be the end of the world as Svaltafar start with agriculture (can pick calendar or animal husbandry as starting tech), so I'm ahead in the tech path to FotL.

I just host my pictures through my Google account (in roundabout fashion via Blogger) - I posted details about how I did it ... uh ... 16 years ago apparently - the instructions there are presumably slightly out of date, but the basic technique still works for me. This is a bit of a kluge though and not a popular technique; I think most people here use Imgur now, and others are apparently using Dropbox again.

Just posting here to confirm that I have you down for Thessa of the Ljosalfar, with Hunting as your bonus starting tech! I'll get things started once all the players have finished their picks, and I hope you enjoy the game!

1) Plains hill under the settler to discourage wandering around. I like it!
Mapmakers usually want the players to settle on the spot, just incase we missed a move that gives you a better start than intended. Plainshill starts help anchor you in place for that. (Personally I try to give some options for moving, but settle in place should be considered the default)

I don't mind the length, as you made good use of paragraphs and punctuation.

Personally I use Imgur, but keep a local backup of both images and the report itself. I find it best to type out as I play, and I've discovered that the audience I'm writing for is primarily myself.

I will most likely try Imgur for the screenshots. Good tips and suggestions for the reporting, let's see how long my enthusianism to write lasts. And I need to compete in the ever-so-crucial thread war RefSteel mentioned.
So it seems that at least one player opted for a reroll of civs. I wonder if they were unhappy with leader traits, civ or starting tech options? I guess there will be no way for me to know for sure untill the game has finished.
The one civ I would not like to see in this game: Illians. Their world spell is annoying, but I think EitB mod has reduced the duration of it.

I made more world builder tests to see the best opening build order. Here are some observations:
- I want to research mining first to improve the gold.
- Warrior first might be necessary as Ljosafar starts with two scouts.
- Worker improves corn -> deer -> farm or fur. Food is important to grow the cap before mines are built.
- Going for a fast settler at size 4 leaves too many unimproved tiles at the capital, and no worker support is available for the second city immediately.
- Warrior -> size 2 capital -> worker -> warriors into settler seemed promising, even if city 2 is delayed a bit.
- No huts, so early game gold is nonexistent unless there are graveyards nearby to rob (not sure if mapmaker has removed or moved these)

Can someone give a bit of advice? I tried to link screenshot from Imgur, but somehow couldn't make it work.
When I create a new post, is the "Insert image" the correct option and then add the copied link form Imgur? I tried this to no avail.

Yes, this should be correct.
Has Imgur an option to share a picture ?
I use the germen forum, because I post my story here and there, so I have no idea how to use Imgur.

I usually copy the BBCode field from Imgur (it will start with [img]) and just paste it directly in to the report.
If you prefer to use the screenshot tag you can do the same technique and then just replace the img with screenshot (will require changing to "view source" mode though).
