Spoilers!- Superdeath tries his best.

Running a couple wealth builds to keep myself at 100% research, and a couple banks will finish next turn plus Thanos will come out of revolt finally for some added production. Setting up two stacks of units, one by the old Magic border, and one in the old charriu border. Going to have a stack of 10ish cats or more in the center to act as a counter to whatever Shallow might throw at me. Also went ahead and maxed out Spiderman to pop a Gmerchant ( hopefully ) in two turns. Which if i get him, he goes straight for Shallow's cap which will take 2 turns then he can grant me a bunch of gold to either build research, or maybe upgrade some knights to cuirs? Capital is about 10 turns behind Spiderman ( once spiderman pops the GM, currently just 3 turns behind ) and it should pop another GS which ill likely save for an eventual " if the game lasts that long " bulbing of education. Going straight to rifles once i grab gunpowder, and only if i see Shallow heading for liberalism do i detour. But i suspect he is going to race me to Cuirs/Cavs and use his massive city lead to out produce me. Still hopeful of a random Elkad attack on Shallow... :D

ALSO, going to be real salty when/if Shallow takes Charriu's island.. i might build myself a little fleet and force him to more or less give me the island. Fairly sure having that island will significantly improve my position with the extra oversea's traderoute from having TGLH. Not afraid to pause a turn after the GA and get optics. Charriu's ex city also had a GG in it, so i get a free promotion out of the gate CHA> all.

Well sadly i got a Great Prophet instead of a merchant.. was really hoping for some cash to possibly upgrade or at least continue teching at a good pace. Looking at 3 turns for Gunpowder, but if i wanna run a bunch of research builds im sure i can get that down to 2 turns. Been thinking alot about what to swap into at the end of the GA.. Likely Vassalage and other war time civics. May or may not swap out of caste.. the ability to get another GA within 10-20 turns is tempting, same with the extra hammers.. however whipping out Cuirs to take someone down a peg or two? Tempting. Im thinking strongly on keeping the tech game going while having full cat/cuir production from all high hammer cities. Heading for Rifles is the priority. i should be the first to them by at least a tech or two. I also sent shallow another demand for crab, hopefully now that we have a crab-crab deal he will know that im planning on taking that island. I dont care if Elkad/Shallow gets Charriu's other city, i want that island, and from a logistics point of view, i dont want Charriu's last city, better for either of the other two to grab it so that they can heat tensions up a bit more. Im hoping Elkad see's that Shallow, with his larger empire, larger army, is the current biggest threat and that if he joins Shallow vs me, shallow will end up attacking Elkad. ( not that i wouldnt likely do the same, however if he declares on me, i have basically direct access to his cap after a turn 0 capture.  ) Anyway, i do like my position in this game, and i think its very much balanced. The map had plenty of natural/semi natural borders, gold/silver/gems were placed to be in conflict zones, and everyone bordered all but one person.

The thing im most sad about, is not being next to RFS. Also the "need" i had to slow down Magic's game.. likely wasnt needed, but i felt i really needed that land vs expanding into rome, or farther south into Shallow land. Magic very likely would have replaced myself as a contender in the last stages of the game had i not razed that city. I feel like i would have been in Charriu's kind of area; Strong military, but not much land, and prone to dogpile. I think this game has shown many things to me, including but not limited to, Praets are still stupid powerful in the longbow/knights era, otherwise im sure Shallow would have ran into Rome by now. Also, that i need to take IMP for a run one of these games as Shallow did very well with it ( not including all the land RFS didnt grab )

ALSO ALSO, before i spoiler 16 cities and a bunch of other crap.. Ive been thinking of being the map maker for a PB ( so i cant say ive played every single pb since i joined ) but i dont know how to edit WB files ect, so i was just figuring id roll a map i liked, and some civs, and people can either A: choose a civ b4 i make the map and i make the starts equal. OR B: they could snake pick to pick a civ out of the ones ive chosen? Doubtful that will get any headway, but figured id throw it out there.

I'm very behind on my lurking but I just saw this. I'm ignorant about editing WB saves, but to change civs, if you open up the WB file with a text editor, you'll see the list of civs (defined with stuff like leader, techs, etc.). From there it's a simply cut and paste to move civs around, so that can be the last and one of the smaller hurdles.

Good luck! From what I've seen around, a thick skin is the most important map maker trait. lol

Well. ive got some screenshots but not feeling it today as i Sadly, lost a 88.8% navy fight against Charriu's galley. so i decided to cancel Thanos's galley build, and rely only on my other southern city to make any navy i might need. Shallow will end up capturing it, and for some screwed up reason Charriu hasnt pulled the galleys to defend? Id kinda figure that Shallow should be getting the shorter end of the stick considering he was the last to "backstab"? I cant beat a 3 stack of galley galley + trireme anyway and im betting he kills a warrior defender, and has a longbow or something to replace it.. There goes my dreams of having another island city.. For now. Elkad is looking like he is preparing to take Charriu's last city, or perhaps Shallow is about to take it and i cant see any units yet? If thats the case, Elkad's stack might be there to slam into Shallow?

I used a couple of extra research builds to get gunpowder down to t2, so it finishes during the GA. And while i was thinking about swapping to slavery, that would only be great vs 1 strong opponent, so keeping caste to get another GA in the future maybe, and because i have workshops basically everywhere. From here i have a couple of options, i already know that the global political stage is going to shift soon, so im planning on having most cities pumping cuirs with a couple pumping cats. While i do this, ill have a 2nd GS popped from the cap ( unless i get REALLY shit odds ) which ill save for a push thru education. However, im doubtful it will become any kind of tech race, SO ill be teching straight to rifles and if i see someone heading for liberalism, i bulb education and get the liberalism free tech, i might grab liberalism once i get RP for the free rifling depending of course... on the situation.

Small mechanics question.. Currently my GS can bulb Chemistry.. will that change to Education once i have paper completed? Or am i stuck on chemistry with my GS's?

Did a quick sim, and i really hope i didnt screw it up any.. loaded same mod, gave myself the techs i currently have, GS bulbs chemistry b4 paper, and after paper is done education is the bulb target.. 2 GS's get all but 336 or so of education. Which is good enough for me. Shallow is currently finishing paper EOT, i should get a decent KTB and finish paper the next turn. My 2nd GS pops EOT unless i get unlucky and get an engineer or get screwed and get an artist.. If i dont get another GS, ill just aim for the 3 person GA by grabbing one of the techs that gives you a GP. Otherwise, going to bulb education and either race Shallow to Liberalism, and take either Economics, OR printing press. Depending on if i want to push to rifles ASAP, or use a free GMerchant for some cheap knight upgrades. I got a fish/fish style deal from Shallow ( hitru ) when i logged in, i figure he was a bit scared of me moving my main stack towards the center of my empire and wanted to get some notion of what i was doing. ( he also moved a bunch of knights towards my gems city of Spiderman. ) It looks like Charriu smashed into some of Shallows units b4 they signed peace.. wonder what all went on there?

I have a bunch of Cuirs coming EOT followed by more the next few turns. Going to delay likely, 3-4 cuirs from the HE city to finish West Point in it for 15xp units out the gate! Or might be 17, ill have to count.. I really REALLY wanna hit Elkad with a stack of 40+ cuirs, but i cant without Shallow also joining in unless i wait till i have 100+ cuirs and he somehow wasted 30 turns doing nothing.. I know i can outtech either of the other two, and outproduce Elkad, while keeping up with Shallow despite the city comparison.. but this is looking more and more like either someone takes one hell of a gamble, maybe Elkad with his Preats b4 they become stupidly obsolete? Or we have a 3 way stalemate till spacerace. Shallow has the edge in score due to slightly more population from 4-6 more cities than me. I see the late game ( closer to Infantry ) as Elkad way behind and close to being food tier with either Shallow or myself splitting him. I may end up taking astro sometime soon to grab these islands down south b4 Shallow gets them.. Floodplains deer? Jesus Commodore, i know astro isnt as powerful on this map as others but damn! Im also curious if i will have a net gain getting astro for the Ocean trade routes vs colossus coast... I dont know if i wanna sim that.

If i could only persuade Shallow to attack Elkad.. I could take Elkad's capital i believe on t3 of the war. Also, im slightly considering astro-chemistry to prevent Magic from being a pita.. but i am hopeful that he dislikes Elkad more/ i am giving him lots of happy and other resources smile

I think at this Exact point in the game, Shallow and i would be at a complete stalemate if it was just us. His production capability + collateral on hand would be enough to prevent me from storming in, and the possiblity of a strong counterattack should prevent him from doing the same, im hopeful that he sees my Iron-iron deal as a way to avoid that kind of thing and maybe work together to take Elkad out. Because more cities would be really awesome.. The more i think about it.. the more i like the idea of pushing for rifles-astro for the islands.. shades

Checked it the last time i was in game, currently getting 12xp cuirs from the HE city, will get 17 with West Point. Not bad.. not bad....

Well, Shallow is i assume, saving gold on Constitution. Likely going for either rep, or rep+ SoL? Im fine surging ahead in power+other categories.. Apparently my sim ended up a bit different than in game, as i could bulb all of education and waste roughly 1200 beakers from the 2nd scientists bulb. So, i used one to bulb education and im spending two turns researching the rest of it. Once education is done the 2nd GS can bulb most of PP which is great! According to this anyway: https://forums.civfanatics.com/threads/g...es.140952/ Going to tech Education-PP-RP-liberalism-rifling/economics. Unless someone goes for liberalism sooner than that. I should be able to at least cash in liberalism for economics which can help with some upgrades or just straight teching to rifling after that.

Shallow is currently behind Gunpowder, military tradition. Im behind i believe monotheism and one other low tech..
Elkad is behind.... alot. He doesnt have gunpowder, paper, music, nationalism, philosophy and something else i believe.
Charriu has been trying to grab my sentry knight for awhile now and ive had to move him out of range of vision on his city, but last i checked.. although it would cost me like 10ish knights i could take his last city. I still dont get why he signed peace with shallow, or gave him ob but has been much more hostile towards me.. /shrug.
Magic seems content to just sit back and not die. Really hoping he doesnt force me to tech to caravels to stop pillaging.

Without looking at the graphs/demos again, from what i can remember im ahead of shallow in production despite the lower # of cities AND im ahead in population for once. However in bigger news, im willing to bet that Elkad declares on either Charriu or Shallow within 5 turns. He has basically no units near me, his defenses are basically archers/longbows which arent scary for cuirs/soon to be cavs.. He really should have attacked one of us sooner with that stack of praets imo. Because although i would love to smash into Shallow if theses two start a real war.. I cant. For several reasons- Elkad might be salty about me taking peace from magic right as/before he declared on him, Shallow could take a peace treaty from Elkad and we could duke it out a bit while Elkad catches back up, and finally, my border with Shallow tells me that any war would be a bloody raze fest. I basically HAVE to take war to Elkad one way or another. Doesnt matter if Elkad starts the war, or Shallow. Hell, if i get to cavs before either of them gets Cuirs ill likely run into Elkad anyway. Especially because i can take his capital turn 3 of the war! ( maybe even sooner ill have to sim ) Shallow apparently doesnt want to invest EP into me either, same with Elkad. Both of us have some vision on Shallow's cities via EP... whats he doing?

Just some last minute thoughts/ TLDR:

Elkad/rome should have used their enormous production/military earlier to either take out Magic, or cripple and try and dogpile either Shallow or myself. IMO.
Boudicca is a fun leader.
I plan to solidify my tech lead from the partial bulb of education, and a partial bulb of printing press.
If Magic decides to intervene at all in any future conquests, ill head straight for astro/chemistry. Plus i can take the southern islands with that as well.
