[SPOILERS] You know nothing, Mahala Tholal

I'll probably put up a few cottages at some point, but Urslo is already at the population cap and I have enough tiles to work at the moment.

Turn 69: Finished researching Festivals. Decided to do a quick run at Animal Husbandry (2 turns) since I still dont have any Barbarians I can kill (the Scout defeated one of the skeletons and the other two moved off to the east) but I do have several Cow tiles and one Sheep tile that could add some nice food and production to my cities.

Settler complete next turn. Think I will move it east to found on the river south of the Barrow. After that I'll backfill a couple of spots closer to the capital.

Turn 71:

Finally got some action from the barbarians! A lizardman emerged from the east and attacked Olricstaad. Tormund was lurking nearby and dashed into the city just in time to defend against the onslaught and gain enough experience for level 6!

You can also see in the log that Brian has entered a Golden Age, using a Great Merchant it seems.

But back to me, Urslo started in on the Titan. Just completed Animal Husbandry so we'll start researching Bronze Working to get access to Copper (double production) and I have two workers on the way to build pastures on the Horse and Cow which will provide a few additional hammers as well. 21 turns seems like a long time, but that expected completion date should move up fairly quickly. I've missed out on building the Titan twice in games on these forums, both times by one turn! Hopefully that won't happen again!

Turn 76:

On target to finish the Titan in 5 turns. Finished Bronze Working (yay Copper!) and also finished building the pastures near Urslo. Running a deficit on food in order to finish a turn sooner.

I seem to be falling behind in the demos, especially in population. I'm not really sure how everyone has size 10 capitals (and one size 11)

Furia is Charismatic (+1 happy) and has access to Freak Shows (+1 happy) while Auric is also Charismatic and has Enchatment Mana (+1 happy), so it makes sense for those two. But Brian and Rhoanna don't have those bonuses.

I've looked all over my exposed map (forgot to grab a screenshot) and I havent found a single additional happy resource.

Here are some possibilities:

Brewing House - possible, but building it this early seems like it would have slowed down expansion severely
Training Yard + Nationhood - also possible
Incense + Pagan Temple + Philosophy - unlikely at this point, though I'm currently researching Philosophy myself
Additional Happy Resources - unlikely I would think, as the mapmaker seems to have put some effort into making the map -- and given the lack of other Happy Resources I've found, I would think that he would have made sure that everyone's starting area was similar

Managed to reach the hut that was behind the Goblin Fort this turn -- more gold -- which is helpful, but it sure would be nice to get a free tech. Almost no events so far, though I did get one a few turns ago for a free Prophet... if only I was Good alignment! Aside from providing a semi-steady flow of barbarians for me to train my troops on, the RNG hasn't done much for me this game.

Carnival seems likely given that Brian is creative, so he'd only need one of your other options. Also, you know that someone(Hippus?) bulbed Sanitation, public baths would get you to size 11.

Has no-one researched any of the religions yet? Are you considering picking up any yourself? Happiness, much better way of popping borders and with the size of this map, a shrine would probably be pretty powerful.

Noone has religion yet, so the religion civic wouldn't matter. I forgot about the Carnival... and it does seem that someone has been capturing animals. But I'm still a bit confused even with those options. Both Rhoanna and Brian would need two of the options listed to get their capitals to size 10.

Religion civic doesn't require a religion, it gives +1 happiness to temples including Pagan. It is like Nationhood + barracks in BTS.

Brian's just finished his Golden Age recently and it looks like he made good use of its effects.

I don't really want to tussle with him at the moment (not that I have any idea of where his lands might be) and since he's the only other civ I've had any contact with, I extend a feeler expressing my interest in peaceful relations.

Also finishing Philosophy at the end of this turn. Grabbing Masonry after that. Think that I'm going to make a stab for the Bone Palace. I probably wont use my capital though, as I want to refocus on expansion. I'll have my two backfill cities founded within 6 turns. After that I'll push further east to grab a mana node and another river system. I'll research Fishing after Masonry as one of my backfill cities will be coastal (with Clams) and I want to get a workboat out exploring the coastline to the west. I'll try to post a map sometimes soon. Visuals are always helpful.

Those are some really scary demos. From the looks of the average figure you're still quite close to the number 2 though. What do you think the chances are of finding everyone and organising a dogpile? Otherwise I fear that lead is only going to get worse.

After looking over the latest turn I've decided on a change of plans. Sanitation will be researched next. The extra farm output is just too good to pass by, even though its going to take me about 10 turns to research it. The capital will postpone finishing the Settler and will instead grow (Philosophy allows the harvesting of Incense for our Pagan Temple) and build a Carnival so that it can grow again. The Brewing House should come online not long after that.
