Fall From Heaven VII Map Thread (Help Needed!)

Seven Pines close by for flavour
Copper now next to the Goblin Fort
Horses to replace old Copper Position

Last Modifications:
Thoughts on moving start West towards either banana? Or swap around the settler and the goblin fort? (Yes Resources would be re-jiggled)

Silks Removed to the West
Furs added to the north
Standing Stones moved to the West
Copper now in Desert
Desert spread further in the south
Tundra spread slightly in the north

Modifications:
Still three barb Spawning spots... Thoughts?

To Do list:
  • Delete Archers from Goblin Forts
  • Delete Bridgits!
  • Delete extra Meanalaus that i added in twice
  • Add in Dragon (Personal Choice is the Southern Island off the leash with Dragon City Separate)
  • Add in all Features but the Pristin Pass
  • Double check settings (and techs due to solo Monarch original setting)
  • Do Final modifications on starting points
  • Figure out how to alter the turn order
  • Cry when everyone tells me i did it badly

*) Add in some standard non-spawning dungeons. It's a high risk option, but if people feel like early gambling give them a chance wink

*) Make sure each player has the same amount of easily reachable huts/graveyards. At the moment clowns don't have any.

*) Replace some of those cows by floodplains wit sheep?

*) Replace some of the floodplains with dead/burnt forest ( or maybe hell terrain? )

*) Grigorii are only faction with easy marble, do you want them to have an edge with wonders? ( Great Library and Bone Palace especially, it doesn't matter as much later on )

To change player order edit the WB save in notepad and move player sections around. It's easy, you shouldn't have any problems figuring this out.

  • Added in dungeons and Huts
  • Change Floodplain Cows to Sheep
  • Floodplains when given forest/jungle change to just desert with no floodplains. Also hell terrain changes back automatically if the AC counter is under 25 i believe. So that would be useless as well (Burning sands would change back to desert not floodplains as well)
  • Instead i just killed some of the floodplains and plonked a inland lake down. Everyone seemed to agree some of it needed Nerfing SOMEHOW.
  • No idea WHERE to add more marble...

Firstly, I second everything Mist has listed bow lol

Secondly, may I add the following further observations I forgot before:

*Unless I missed the edit, the Sheaim Gems is not Jungled, as everyone else's is. The New Forest may make up for it though, but the others will require Iron Working & the Sheaim won't.

*Can't see any huts near the Balseraphs, and the Hippus ones are going to require a long trek, bringing them in contact with the Balseraphs along the way [or is that the idea? if so, why not the same for the others?]

*Is it me, or are the Balseraphs the only one gimped by a Goblin Fort [thought they were standing Barbarians before duh] in their BFC?!? And the Ljosfalar, Elohim & Sheaim don't have Goblin Forts near them at all!!

Hmm ... hang on, have I missed some obvious weighting ploy to slow Kyan down? rolf

Run to the Hills... nice

I'm adding in the Mist Alterations now. I think it's less about gimping Kyan and more about nerfing the power of floodplains tongue
Although thanks for the reminder to add Barbs to the Elohim. The Sheaim and Elves have lots of spawners on their landmass that should head for them through the jungles but the Elohim need more... I'll let that player know it's your fault for the extra Gobo fort!

The Hippus should have one south west of the start if i remember correctly... (Yep its in the post just above on this page!)

As for the Sheaim... I guess i never thought about it. The only other Happy Resource nearby is the dye to the west. I could allways swap them around but i figured it would be okay this way around :/

After even more editing the Mad Clowns ended up with this Start.

  • Some of the Floodplains disappear into a lake.
  • Rice on the Gobo's.
  • Hut nearby and in the southern Jungle.
  • Mana Node on Floodplain.
  • Cow Replaced with Sheep

Have we over-nerfed now?

Perhaps move the Gobo's off the rice to the south-west?
Or add in a silk somewhere?

EDIT: Would be helpful if i remembered to add in the actual picture

Nations
Apart from barb editing and a possible jungle for the Sheaim the rest seem to be done. Yes? Just want to post some pictures for the players who have started threads as a reward. I'm probably over eager

Dragon Choice
No one seemed bothered about the Dragon as long as it was out of the way. So it ended up as this.

Move gobbos on to bananas. Swap gunpowder for reagents or remove gunpowder and place incense on the desert south of the lake.
