That's the operative word there. They hope their team members will chime in. So, if each turn lasted a year, they would take that long. Why the fuck do they even have a say in how long the timer lasts?
Because the rules process was a farce and we don't have a functional game admin.

And, IMHO, that's not fair to the other teams in the game.
Ruff, you should post in support of this.
I have to run.

Perhaps this counts as aiding and abetting the enemy, but can't we just suggest that they *gasp* plan ahead and prepare a turn-plan to follow in case nothing unexpected happens?

They'll be too busy hoping that people chime in on the plan.

errr - I already did.
ruff_hi at CFC Wrote:A friendly suggestion - set up a dummy game that mirrors your pitboss game use that for testing, planning, preparation for playing the actual turn. That way, your planning staff can look at alternatives outside of the game and your team be prepared to play most of the turn before it even starts.
Obviously, you cannot cover random items or actions from other teams, but you can play 80-90% of each turn this way.
Also - you don't have to hope that they chime in as your turn player will have a fully documented list of things to do.
I have finally decided to put down some cash and register a website. It is www.ruffhi.com. Now I remain free to move the hosting options without having to change the name of the site.

If they don't take our "super friendly advice" in that thread, let's turn that thread into a PYFT dogpile free-for-all organization thread. What's the admin going to do, penalize us?

Guys, I think that if anything substantive is to happen we should shorten the timer. What does it take for that? Admin intervention? Team votes? I hope we don't need unanimity. Just point out how the turns now take 80 hours. I think we should have the timer be 24 hours given that with a war it will be 48 hours anyway. A motion like this may take a week or two to happen but it'd save a lot going forward...

We can't change the rules without a unanimous vote, and I'm pretty sure changing the timer counts as changing the rules. I'm afraid all we fan realistically do is try and get all teams to pressure them to end turn. With luck the war will end soon.

Fuck that. Keep pushing for a timer change and hope the host does it. I see no reason to resign ourselves to defeat.
