Long story short... diplo is crazy right now!

Xenu is hard core trying to convince me to attack Sian.

Catwalk wants an agreement about Wonders.

and Sian is mad becuase he thinks i'm working with Xenu b/c i forgot to turn EPs off him and Xenu is walking an army thru my borders due to the OB i signed with him.

ARGH!

Given experience disparities, annoyance level, and the strength of you leader, there is only one solution: Kill them all; just mass immortals -> HA and play it AW.
If only you and me and dead people know hex, then only deaf people know hex.

So tempting.... once expansion phase is over, I wouldn't mind it. I don't enjoy the diplo that's for sure but I am about to enjoy the mass of settlers that will be going out!

Sian is the only one that I am remotely worried about but definitely not as much as Xenu or even Catwalk are worried about him.

I wish teching could be done at Spear point in this game!

OK, here's a bit more thorough update on the world of PBEM29G.

First of all, Xenu has decided not to continue his harassment of Sian. Which is probably good for me politically since Sian has been doubting me. To be honest, I would have loved Xenu to get up in Sian's face and just mess with him however possible. Unfortunately, Xenu said the maintenance costs were too high.

Speaking of other nations, let me show you what I have learned about my rivals' lands as a result of OB. First up, the Republican nation.

First, you'll notice i counted cottages. Since most of his workers are in teh south or north, I am pretty sure that my number is fairly accurate. he's got 7 cottages. All of them except the ones in the capital look like they were just built.

Also, notice that he's built barracks in ] Mitt and Rick. Libraries in Newt and Rick. There's a wall in Huntsman. Ron Paul has a granary and Perry has nothing yet. Everything except Ron and Perry have monuments.

Here's what I found in the cat's land:

I know they are wanting to run a specialist economy but with their happy cap at 7, I presume, I would think they could afford to work some cottages. Maybe I'll find them soon. There's a library in teh capital (I assume they're working two scientists) and none in other cities i can see. Teh capital also has the Oracle. I'm looking but I don't see any forges which i find odd. I know they ran a specialist to get the GE and build the Mids. I even reopened the save to rotate angles and can't see one in any of these three cities.

I still know nothing about Sian. I need to scout him.

As to my world. Here's the Tundra/north:

And the core:

You can see my plan with two galleys. The red galley/orange settler will be settling the small stone island with the plan to chop out Moai asap! The maroon galley/pink settler will settle the island in teh south (probably on top of the wine) so that I can hook up the gold. I'd like to push into the jungle area but these sites have other great benefits ASAP. Tho i am a bit worried about how having island sites will affect my trade routes based on the bug that was discovered. I still only have a hazy grasp on it. Base 10 has a warrior garrison but it's below the happy cap so I will send that warrior on the galley as well to explore the island.

Specifics on my empire:

The capital's settler will finish next turn and I will probably go ahead and finish that archer since I'll need more garrison units for the cities I'm founding. Then it'll be back to a worker or settler.

Quadratic:

Quad was just whipped to finish that settler sooner. Since Quad has SOOO much food and no specialists to work at the moment, it's easy to grow that pop back. Plus, with the IMP bonus, the hammers get multiplied and the food doesn't.

Integer:

This is the only city I wasn't sure what to do with this turn. I started a worker because I want to keep working as many cottages as possible and Integer is at the happy cap. One of those FP cottages will be worked by my new city, Prime, but this turn there was a special reason that wasn't happening (see below). I need to build a WB out of here next so I can hook up the clams for Prime. I am considering whipping the WB but not sure... hoping Krill will tell me why I'm being stupid so I can improve.

Base 10:

Base 10 is suffering from not enough workers at the moment so it's working a forest grassland instead of a river cottage. Long term the plan is to work the crabs, elephant and three mines and build settlers. I need to grow once more first tho, hence the 2 food forest instead of 1 food mine (grows 1 turn faster). I'm trading 1 food for 2 hammers. It's not great but the growth a turn sooner should help make up for it.

TI-83 Plus
[Image: 59%20TI83.JPG]

I never had the 85 like all my cool friends in high school. But I managed to get it done with the 83. This city will be making do just like I was. Working two deer is +6 food. this will not be a good city for whipping. I don't want to chop the forest on the flat tundra since I'll never get anything good out of that. rivers can be farmed or cottaged. hills mined. this city is just to get the silver.

Prime:

The newest city. Last turn it worked a FP cottage but since the mine was just complete, I am working the PH mine 1 turn as this allows me to finish the monument in one turn. The chop I already put into the monument left me 6 turns from finishing when working the FP. That was way too long to get the clams in play. So instead now, I have 6 turns to wait instead of 11 for the clams to be available.

Finally, the demos:

I'm glad, especially in light of just whipping off 2 pop that I'm still #1 for food! I'm #2 in MFG but #1 is WAY ahead. Yikes! I don't know if that could be because Sian is building a wonder and getting bonus hammers but I don't think that is included in demographics. It could be catwalk and slowcheetah working lots of mines with all those farms. they also said they were gonna settle their Great Prophet they spawned so that'd be +5 hammers I think.

Admittedly, the GNP is me running 0% science but I don't have libraries so it's not improving at 100%. Of course, Sian has Henge which may even have doubled in culture already--I know that happens fast early. Isn't it after 1000years or something like that?--AND the Great Lighthouse. Since he's clearly #1, that means that 14 (or 22 if Henge has doubled) is just culture. Still, that means he's at double me! This is the ONLY reason I am worried about Sian.

Overall, these demographics are not as happy as I'd like them to be. The good news is that I can run max science and get Writing in 1T (yeah for known tech bonus!). I will probably not start building libraries until I can't make money at 0% gold tho. I'm just gonna push the expansion literally to collapse!

Seeing an improved but unworked fish makes me sad. I sort of get working the PH for 1T to finish the monument, but I'd still rather spend that one turn working 5/0/2 fish instead of 3/0/2 FP cottage. Though that said - was growing to size 2 in Prime and whipping monument to completion not an option?

Currency seems like an important tech for you to help keep you afloat.

Currency= definitely!

Growing to size 2 then whipping would have delayed the monument by 2 turns--which means 2 turns longer to get the clams hooked up. So I lost 3 food for one turn but gain a four food tile quicker. I'm not doing the micro sheets but that just seemed better to me. Plus I'd prefer not to whip pre granary if I don't have to.

As to Integer not working the fish--it's already grown past the happy cap. If I double whip a settler there then that one unhappy person is worth it. I'm not sure what use I could make out of a second unhappy citizen--though I'm very open to being informed! :D

You're probably right there. I really don't know off the top of my head - was just a random thought.

Well you were building a worker so the only real effect would be +2f/turn towards the worker which may or may not speed it up by a turn. I'm guessing not, but that's still 2h extra into whatever you build next. Is the city unhappy because of whip anger or is it just naturally unhappy? If the latter, whipping it down might be a good idea. If it's just recovering from whip anger yeah, let it sit on a worker/settler for a bit.

Edit: I see now you're saying it's grown past happy. Whipping a Lighthouse or Barracks or something to bring it down a size might be a good idea. Actually no - a settler might be best.
