The power spike.

A praet galley spotted. SilverAsh has only 2 axes inside it, so it could be razed if he attacks amphibiously and wins both battles.
We have 5 axes in range to fortify it next turn.

Nice power spike!

His odds were 36% and 62%. That means the chance to win both battles was 23%. He won them and razed SilverAsh the gems city.
Taking that low of a chance to raze a size 1 city is bad play, but sometimes it is better to be lucky than good smoke

I'll try to get it re-settled soon. We know GKC didn't raze it to re-settle it and grab the gems, because..

He's settling the other gems that I intentionally left for him to avoid conflict.

Again you have to wonder what the hell is the point from his side? What did he gain other than a pissed-off neighbor?

Rome offered peace. This is what I think about their offer:

Killed a galley:

Another one was revealed, but it won't get odds on me. It can hide in the city, but then we can pillage the fishing nets.

Some praets around here, but we can handle them if they attack. Same scenario here: If the galley hides then we pillage the fishing nets.

Killed another galley in the south. Going to stack triremes together now so he can't trade 2 galleys for one.

Machinery done next turn, we get +8 GPT from the existing lumbermills. About as much as a shrine would get us right now lol. I don't know when I'll get around to building one, I have other priorities atm.

Demos still pretty bad after emergency whips, losing 2 cities, and focusing on military builds.

Stacking up was a good decision, Rome is whipping a lot of galleys. We have a 3 trireme stack in the north and 2 trireme stack in the south.

Killed 2 more galleys (1 was in defense) and pillaged 1 fishing net this turn.

Let's start keeping count. Totals so far:
Fishing nets pillaged: 2
Galleys killed: 6
Praets killed: 3

A trireme stack meets a galley stack:

We killed 2 of them. I held back with the last one to defend the stack.

I went for a bit of a risky mission with these two injured triremes. Trying to pillage more fishing nets.

Fishing nets pillaged: 2
Galleys killed: 8
Praets killed: 3

He managed to cover them and the attack odds aren't high enough for my liking, so I retreated. I might get attacked by other galleys. I will have odds on the first one at least.

New SilverAsh was founded and we're right back to connecting the gems.

Another Galley kill in the north gave us a 5XP Trireme. Wonder if we can get Navigation II on it? We'll find out next turn.

The Trireme raid has been a success. We've managed to hurt him by destroying ships and nets, but also made him focus on whipping galleys to try to fight back.
Soon we will have Berserkers. I'm already building barracks' and soon starting on galleys for the next phase of the war.
GKC is asking for peace, but he shouldn't have burned my two cities if he wanted peace.

Fishing nets pillaged: 2
Galleys killed: 9
Praets killed: 3

Bah he won the low odds first battle and cleared two triremes without losses.

On the bright side, Berserkers coming online in 4 turns.
