FoxBat Wrote:Yes but it misses the purpose for picking the build, which was Lyric of Zeal abuse, plus splinter on a ranger. I'm inclined to prefer Ether Renewal healer in the absence of those. Splinter on a mostly-trapping ranger is not going to amount to much. And with both OoB and BiP available, abusing Lyric of Zeal is redundant, I'd tend to think.
I'm perfectly happy to go with an ER healer instead; I'd like a chance to try out Rt/Me mesmer damage skills anyway. If Lyric of Zeal is going to be proccing all the time I can potentially go with some other signet instead of signet of recall and still be able to manage extend condition spam. Or if we drop the para for an ER healer I can go with signet of recall and rely on BiP to cover the energy degen from the signet, which will give me tons of energy to spam extend conditions. Of course that still means skill juggling on some of the other characters, so YMMV.
EDIT: I note that if I go with Rt/Me, not only can I add Extend Conditions, I can potentially add Fragility and/or Hypochondria too....

Game night tonight!
Any further thoughts on the team build?

Wyrm doesn't like the BiP para. I don't know what he's putting in its place. And yes I love the vast amount of input I'm getting.
The condition build IS probably too light on offense, ToF may be overkill. BiP + something useful (or Dual-attune ele with Blood Ritual) could work better. I also posted a necro-rit if we end up switching Mucco around to that role.
Hypochondria does look very cool. It will make coordinating the condition spread much easier.
I suggest trying the condition thingy, we will know early in the mission whether it has a chance of working or not. If aborting then we can switch to the tank setup.

Well if you and Wyrm want to run a prot monk and a ER healer, I can run extend conditions 'mesmer' and mucco can run BiP/curses. That's what I'm thinking in the absence of other input, anyway.

FoxBat Wrote:Anyway here's the "boring tank idea" for reference, as a complete alternative to the above condition stuff: http://gwshack.us/63e50
<snip picture>
Where I'm standing, the tank can pull a pretty effective bodyblock, while nukers standing around where my heroes are nuke with impunity, with easy access to the catapult as well. This provides protection from jade bows, and makes it very hard for jade armors to work their way up there. All nuker skills have to be made without line of sight though. Trapping the bridge is possible, especially since enemies will not have line of sight to interrupt. We'd also need an ether renewal tank with 2 bonds to handle the other side, assisted by an offensive spirit spam build that sets up spirits at both gates. (I've tried, there is enough room to make that work.) The weakness of this setup is constrained builds; two tanks, two healers, bonder, and spirit spam is already 6 characters, leaving 2 slots for nuking/caster disabling and maybe blood ritual. It will also crumble completely if either tank dies, and is very vulnerable to chain lightning, since most casters will be unbonded. (Each tank gets Bond + Barrier, Trapper gets Barrier for combat trapping, ER guy gets Vital Blessing.) On paper it seems to have more damage output however.
I'm up for trying this next time around. As discussed with Fox, switching my character to be the spirit spammer is fine with me. I'd be making a couple modifications to the bar to add in more energy management since I'm not a necro primary, but the core spirit spam skills would all still be there.
Rt/N
11 Channeling 11 Communing
Pain
Bloodsong
Shadowsong
Gaze of Fury
Painful Bond
Offering of Blood
Spirit Siphon
Nightmare Weapon
I put in Nightmare weapon because the spirit spammer is covering both sides and won't necessarily be in easy heal range for OoB sacs; this gives her a way to cover the health loss and add in some bonus armour ignoring damage. I could sub in Splinter instead but I don't think we have any multishot attackers who could really make use of it, and my attention will probably be focused elsewhere for the most part anyway.
I stuck in OoB instead of OoS because I just like it better. It gives a better energy return and can be used even when out of energy, rather than having to wait for 5e to regen, which can take several seconds with a nudist. That said, I can certainly reconsider and use OoS if I need to be bringing something other than nightmare weapon for the 8th slot, that needs a different spec rather than blood magic.

I've updated the build. Calling for 4(!) eles for maximum damage. N/Rt (or even Rt) could replace the ER healer, I'm less and less impressed by its inflexibility, only real advantage is patient spirit spam as a cover enchant. This build is very glass cannon with barrier, bond, and balthazar's spirit maintained on each tank. The positioning and snare should hopefully take care of physicals. For casters we have maelstrom. The SF /n has blood ritual for whoever needs it up top, and well of weariness to prevent well of the profane from being cast. The /mo uses remove hex to catch fatal caster disruption like guilt, diversion, and mark of subversion, and Meteor Shower for yet more disruption (should be chained with Maelstrom)

well, I had hoped to continue using my necro as a necro since that's what I've been using for the whole of nudists (aside from that one brief attempt at ER tanking). I suppose I can run N/Rt if mucco's not going to be around (although, hey, maybe we can snare SF back onto the team) or one of the eles.
Edit: or, heck, I could probably run that spirit build that you have listed as Rt/N.

You get to fight with Zed over that.
I know people have their pet characters, but we've been on this damn mission for FAR too long, and I can't figure out how to make necros deal damage w/out physicals/minions. Though you could always try N/E Searing Flames ![[Image: rolleyes.gif]](http://realmsbeyond.net/forums/images/smilies/rolleyes.gif) . The fire islands will be very light on build restrictions by compare and we can make their favorites work.
P.S. make jude monk!

Hey, it's only fair to let the Rt do the spirit spamming.
