That is a lot indeed. Does the Oracle work? Techs are usually a bad investment in advanced start, since 1 hammer is worth more than 1 beaker but priced the same. But if you can pick up cheap techs to the Oracle for Metal Casting - buy a forge from turn 0? Or buy techs up to CoL and Math, then Oracle for Bureaucracy on turn 0? Or buy up to Construction for a catapult rush, or Feudalism for a longbow rush? (Longbows are the strongest resourceless unit in range.)
Hmm I wonder if this is material for an RB event. We did Advanced Start once before, but that was a long time ago and it was just the normal number of points.

I am thinking along the same sort of lines - also, connect up marble and that should make your oracle cheaper
I have finally decided to put down some cash and register a website. It is www.ruffhi.com. Now I remain free to move the hosting options without having to change the name of the site.

A game with huts suggests lots of scouts. Unfortunately, barracks in cities don't add experience to placed units, otherwise explorers may have netted that extra tech or two.

Here is the land as I got it when the turn came in.
Here are the techs that I purchased
And here are my 4 cities - all size 1. Most people purchased 5 cities and also population. I am not sure if I've made a mistake not buying people or not. Guess I don't have to worry about happiness issues for a while

Adding a pop point to cities might be for whipping, which costs 33 points to go to size 2, but if you factor in forges, organized religion, traits, etc, you'll come out ahead.

Got the other game back. No one built any wonders so I chopped out my Oracle.
In the real game, I am trying to decide if I grow and whip my capital or just let it grow to max-happy size and work the mines. By my calc, I can grow my capital from 4 to 6 in about 8 turns. During that time, I can easily generate about 80 hammers. So - my thinking is leaving it large and using the flexibility that the hammer output gives me (settler, workers, missionary, defense, etc).
Am I missing something here?

 I'd love to play that
