Is that character a variant? (I just love getting asked that in channel.) - Charis

Hey guys, can I make an odd request? When the game is over, I'd like to be able to compare starts and such and how it played out over time. Can I request that you guys re-open your T40 save and make note in your thread of three things:

1. Number of cities
2. Number of workers
3. Number of settlers en route (if applicable)

I'd also ask that we do it on T50, and then every 15 or so turns after that until about T100.. .and then if some lurker could be so kind as to compile it so we can see it after the game. I just remember that in PBEM5b, it was hard to follow who was ahead unless their updates came on the same turn, so it'd be nice if we could have some kind of uniform way of comparing starts afterwards. Thanks!

I'm happy to keep track of the data for you guys smile

Might I suggest you're a bit more definite about which turns everyone should provide data for? I think easiest to remember is if it's every 10th turn.

(And if people want to provide the historical data for T10/20/30 that'd be cool, too smile )

I'd prefer every 10 turns until T100, and then space them out to every 20 turns perhaps. Is everyone ok with this? I'll go back and get my T10/T20/T30 info as well, but if that's too much work for people I don't think it's too big a deal. Well I may skip T10 because nothing had really happened yet at that point.

It's T50. We all know what that means.

And I'm loving this pace. PBEM5B was too fast for me (Krill and I blitzed through that game with ungodly #s of turns those first few nights), but this 2-4t a day pace is great.

Right, properly back from a couple of days away, so started the spreadsheet. So far the following info has been provided:

I have T20-50 from Cyneheard.

T40 from Lewwyn.

T50 from Nakor.

T40 from scooter.

Thanks Pling! I dropped T50 in my thread and I'll add T20 and T30 in the next couple days when I have some time to dig through old saves. smile

I'm out of town next week (Sunday to Friday or Saturday), and I've asked Rego (who is unspoiled AFAIK) to cover for me. So once that happens, we're going to either need to move the tracker to rego (or me and rego) for the duration, or have scooter forward the save manually.

I'm likely only going to give him like 6-8t of micro information, so the current 2-3t a day pace isn't going to happen.

Hey Mackoti asked me if we're having open borders or not? I thought I'd bring it up since he's right, we could all just close borders with whoever seems to be in the lead in the lead. The idea behind this is that it can create an economic dogpile even in an always peace game. Do we want that to be able to happen?

I would vote for closed borders, for that reason and to allow the Krill Maneuver: settling in a blocking pattern, if one is so inclined to set borders that way.
