Well the worker is in position to chop, and the city grows next turn. The workboat finishes next turn as well, so we'll be working the mine, farm, and fish. We'll build the settler working those 3 tiles and build another WB next.

Correct me if any of the above is wrong.

Change of plan, build another worker before workboat, so we can hook up the gold sooner.

Played the turn, I think we're on track. Part of me is wary about going worker-settler-worker, but it doesn't delay hooking up the rice, and we need that tile anyway to get the gold up and running. Everything looks good, we're top of food & mfg, and these are real improvement boosted numbers, though that won't last if we're going for oracle. NobL (the rival I'm most concerned about so far) seems to be at the bottom of score, don't know why, he he hasn't grown, is he going worker-worker-settler or something? Just hope he doesn't go for Oracle.

We still have time to back out of going for Oracle, as winning Poly fits into the standard plan anyway.

Hmm.. that opening doesn't make a lot of sense to me with all these juicy tiles to improve. This is just napkin math though.. I still think the starts are mirrored, but if they aren't perhaps it made more sense for their start. With their UB being a Forge improvement though, I would expect them to try and make a bid for the Oracle -> MC route so perhaps they went the early extra Worker for additional chops route.

With Jkaen having grabbed Buddhism already, Kuro not needing an early religion with a Creative leader and Noble Helium/Lewwyn not growing, we should at least be on course to nab Polytheism first. They started with Mining/Wheel, and probably will have gone the Agri -> BW route as well. So even if we end up cancelling the Oracle plan, we should at least end up with a religion to play around with.

They could have decided to go for an early second Worker because their tech plan didn't include Fishing?

As a continuation of the above, did we already decide if we want to go for the Oracle in the capital, or in the Gold city?

I would prefer the latter as it has more forests to chop and doesn't pollute the capital with great prophet points, but if a capital build is faster it should be seriously considered.

Played, sent.

I'd say chop the oracle in our rice/gold city. We're top of food and mfg, whatever that means on T25.

In a game where the earlier you get your snowball rolling the better, that could mean quite a bit. smile

Well, we're kinda disrupting our snowball to oracle metal casting, but then again our snowballing is limited by intercontinental logistics and maintenance. It's just that I'm pondering what order we we should go galley --> settler --> forges.

Mysticism is in, polytheism is started. Settler finishes in 2.

We're building another worker after the settler, right? What about the worker we already have, I assume he farms the rice before mining the gold? And priesthood after poly?

Turn played. Yep, we do those things, though I think we have time to put 1 turn into chopping the grass hill 2 of the rice before we settle and our culture lets us farm the rice. I think it should be safe to run a turn of 100% gold after we settle, without delaying poly, check what the slider rate looks like.

Noble and Kuro still haven't grown, Jkaen's grown to size 4, no idea if that's a good idea. I think our early city works well. Hopefully I have time to hash our our microplan for the oracle, depending on how busy I will be this weekend.

Also, there's still time to go for wheel-pottery if we get cold feet and go for a more conservative growth-oriented strategy.
