I was actually talking more about physically sharing things rather than opening up trade routes.
I guess worker turns are still at a premium so roads are not as important, but you do have specialist teams so I guess the earlier you can share the better.
And on the sixth day, god created Manchester.

Ah, that's right, we did set things up that way.
It's still pretty early and worker turns are still quite valuable (not to mention that despite all the cities, we're still quite far away from each other). After the next round of cities or two we might be close enough to start trading units but not quite at the moment.

And in general I'd also rather be settling toward the other teams at this point to secure more land than the back lines of our team.

Sorry for the lack of pictures in this update; I'll try to get some posted later this week.
Anyway, the big news is that there is now one turn left on the HG, as three chops come in next turn.
My scout to my NW spotted an un-escorted Chinese (Luddite) settler. I'll probably follow it just to see where he goes (was exploring that direction regardless).
A Mongolian (Speaker) archer appeared in my west to the NW of the rice. He could have made my settling/exploring a bit interesting to deal with, but he backed off. Regardless, I had France lend India horses and Vijay will be building a HA next.

Two big pieces of news from this past turn. One is Lewwyen being annoying with his explorer:
That explorer has both forest promotions, so I am assuming it has previously fought (thankfully not with me!). Anyway I moved my HA into the city and one of the workers onto the gold, so the most annoying thing he could do is just sit on that tile for a while.
The more important news is this though:
Looks like luddite is trying to really settle up on me. I may get a couple HAs together to see what I can't do, especially with the fast worker's ability to quickly chop jungle for a surprise attack, but we'll see on that note.
On a not important note, I finally decided on a theme to go with (Dave I knew you had one for the entire team, if you still want to go with that go a head and change these, but I figured with people now getting visibility on my cities it would be smart not to let them count backwards by the name to how many cities I am at).

Well explorer's can't attack, so as long as you've covered up all the useful tiles then he can't do much (sunrise blocked my explorer with a Great Artist). Unless he moves somewhere else you won't be able to do much as he's approx str 10 on a forested hill.

He's trying to settle near you with only 1 archer defending? That can't be right. If it is just 1 archer then HA's won't have any trouble getting past it.

Fine by me, I ended up using my theme in my PBEM25 Game anyway
I don't recognize your naming scheme, care to fill us in?

You're definitely missing out then.
