I was going to watch the finals, but then I realised that I had no connection to either team and was not excited at all by the thought of the finals. If fanatic had made it in then this would be much more exciting to me due to the way fnatic plays.

I can see how not having a connection makes the games less exciting but I don't understand how you think either team is boring. Also SKT tends to play pick comps in a pretty similar style to Fnatic, albeit without TPs, so I really don't understand loving Fnatic's style but not liking SKT's.

Sorry, I did a bad job of explaining my position there. Anyway, ended up watching game 1 despite my previous statement, and wow, Riot really took their time building the hype. The game started a full hour after it was meant to!

I've never watched LoL tourneys before, but when the speedrunning stream I was watching slowed due to the twitch traffic, I switched to watch the LoL finals.

Holy crap they are good. Obvious I know, but as someone who's played 4 games of LoL in the last year, it's fascinating to watch. I'm thoroughly entertained.

Yeah, the dominance by SKT has been greater then I had expected. I was predicting a 2-3 score, but SKT have been their best yet and royal haven't been playing like the team that took down fnatic.

So I wanted to ask, what should Royal Club have picked vs Jax? Is there simply no counter to him currently and do teams have to just put him down early in the game to stop him getting out of control?

Apparentely Renekton who was banned each game is the counter (I don't know how that works but ok), Royal picked Malphite first game which slowly lost the lane while trying to group up and catch 5v4's which never really happened, 2nd game they took Rumble who can do well vs Jax early but gets stomped hard when Jax starts powering up and lastly they picked Kennen who was stuck in a 1v1 lane (I assume by the Dorans Blade start it was meant to be a 1v1) and by the time the 2v1's ended Jax was out of his weakfish early game.
