It's alright, my suffering will be over soon, although my appetite for civ after playing this abomination is very low. I can't believe the map made it past lurker review.
The number of neighbours I have compared to others is cause for concern by itself, but how does NoGas for instance get this huge lake providing them with natural defense whereas people can come at me from a 270 degree angle?! All my (tiny) lakes have open spaces of land between them. That's without even taking into consideration the safety of an ocean backline, which most players have enjoyed this game, except for SD and I. The area NoGas have had to cover compared to me is just... I have no words.

More hammers spent on military, more gold spent on upkeep and still a sitting duck. It aggravates me just thinking about it, much the same way I've been annoyed most days I've opened up the game to play a turn. Luckily there are more important things in life than a civ 4 MP game, so it doesn't stick after exiting to desktop. Once this is over I can finally clear it from my mind, but the daily reminder of this **** map has only caused me grief for months now.
@Charriu, I'm referring to the circumnavigation thing which has already been covered previously. Not only did the civs starting on the edge have the advantage of needing to make less units, but they even had an economic advantage due to more trade routes, effectively making an already imbalanced map even worse.
Asked NoGas to declare on Serdoa. Curious to see if they'll finally turn on their friend who has no pikes and kept a single archer in his border city by them for the entire game.
