[SPOILER]PB58 - Mr. Cairo residing over the remains of Serdoas Library of Knowledge

I totally agree with you Serdoa, i get amazed about the speed of settling several of you have. I ve tried a lot of times on single player and i crush my economy so easy. Its really instructive to see or at least read how you plan and measure everything.

If you could post some pics of your empire it would be so awesome :P

Really nice to read you!

T82: I might be harsh, but honestly, I'm tired of watching other players deliberately hurt their own chances to win. I've offered Jowy several times OB, he has never agreed to them but instead elected to kill my warrior that was no threat so that our trade routes are shot. But he does give OB to Tarkeel, you know, the guy with GLH and tied for first in cities despite NOT being IMP. AT at least gets a gold-resource out of the deal, even though I would say that is not nearly matching what Tarkeel gets out of it.

So now Tarkeel should get issues with expanding but instead will happily go on because two other players decided that they would rather see that guy be in front. They do hurt their own chances (and mine of course, else I could not care less) - and there is no explanation like "They do not know better" because fucking GLH is a topic since before I left the site. And that is what really is annoying. The issue are not wonders or leaders being too strong (I actually wanted to write about why I believe FIN/IMP is not as strong as people jazz it up to be but was picked by good players that know how to use it well), the issue is players that do not even follow the most obvious course of action that was explained countless times in dozens of games because they talk themselves into some shitty explanation why their case is special and obviously not the norm... So basically now I have to try and bribe them into fucking stopping feeding gold to Tarkeel because apparently they actually wanted to play a team-game and forgot to state so at the sign-up...  rolleye

And to top that off, I'm greeted by SD requesting that I give him a gold-resource for TR. Which probably makes sense as he has two trade partners already so does not need my routes (Ruff and Jowy) but it still is annoying. So, what am I going to do? Well

1) Rant on the forum without any impact or change.
2) Build an island-city, play as isolationist because I'm the apparently the pariah already anyway.

Probably yeah wink

But in all honesty: It is frustrating that players have no will to try their best. It basically boils down to your point of people conceding before a game is actually concluded. I feel like some players in this game have already decided that I'm the runaway leader that they can't win against so they feel right in throwing their own game away to help someone else "reign me in".

I probably am overreacting, I do have a bad headache and I know that I lash out when I do (or as my wife calls it "when you have your time of the month"... ) but I'm kinda frustrated because there simply is nothing I can do. I mean besides settling city 10 and 11 on T84 and T88, getting my island-TRs in the process, getting 3 wine online that will increase my GNP considerably due to FIN-bonus and grow my cities to size 5+ each to work more tiles (having a Granary in each city now and getting Lighthouses in the coastal ones in the next 3 turns after having gotten Sailing 2 turns ago will help as well). Did I mention only working improved tiles (or lakes because 2/0/3 is just too much immediate benefit)? Oh... and getting my shrine in the next 5 turns I believe.. maybe 7. With Buddhism already spread in half my empire (admittedly by pure chance and no doing on my own).

So, I thought I was done with ranting but ... Jowy is not only helping Tarkeel by giving him TRs, no, Jowy is also literally foregoing to get graphs on everyone in order to put his EP on me. Consistently since we met. I've made 284 EP on others so far but I've had done the most thorough scouting of everyone so I think it is safe to assume that no one got more on others - most likely Jowy got less. And yet, he has spent 164 on me. Even in a best case scenario he has at best graphs on 3 others with no EP on the 4th, but more likely he only has the graphs of 2 other players.

Charriu, is there a possibility that in Pitboss spread of religion is somehow influenced by who is ending turn? I've had it now several times that my religion did spread (up to 6 from 10 cities have it now) when I was ending turn. I don't think there is a way to check if it happened every time when I was last to play as I can't find a date anywhere when the city got its religion. Maybe there is a setting in BUG that displays that?

On that note: It hasn't spread to anyone else I believe, I guess because I do not have open borders with them?
