I wanted to also thank the map-maker for making the map and waiting through this confusion. +2 diplo points for the map-maker and an additional +1 every 20 turns that the map doesn't suck, up to iMapMakerAttitudeChangeLimit.

From what I've seen of my start, it'll be an interesting map. I see now why the lurkers liked it so much.

I was saying something about Tatan not giving out screenshots of our starts to us, and he responded by posting my start. I don't want to give any spoilers, but the highest strength barbarian unit right next to my Settler was more than 15 and there were multiple of them.

So I would recommend not complaining or Tatan might give you a start like mine.

Of course I could do what Silent Confusion did, but I'm holding out on making my spoiler thread until I get the save.

Moral of the story = Don't do what SilentConfusion did. And don't mess with the mapmaker.

Because I don't have much to say until then I could do the whole analyze my opponents thing I guess, but I plan to do that as I meet them in game. And I don't feel like making many plans without knowing what the map looks like, as those plans almost assuredly wiould get drastically changed as the game progresses anyway, so all in all there's just not that much of a reason to yet.

If you can't play it right away, Cjreynol, it's fine, but I would like it if you could at least let me know when you expect to get to it, because I'm anxious to start and otherwise I'll just keep checking back ever 20 minutes.

For those who have played these games before: What's the typical pace of these? A turn a day or is that way too optimistic?
