No, if he kills it he'll only gain 2xp. He may not, plus that unit would have to heal and couldn't hurt us for a couple turns. The main hotspot with 2metra is around Mars/Sheep right now. Commodore has about equal forces on both fronts and not enough to do any damage by himself yet ... I hope.

This was the foreign Adviser when I logged in. Both Commodore and 2metra declared us us last turn frown




Here on the eastern front 2metra did not move in. I don't know why he's giving us more time, but since the spy was in position I pillaged the road and also brought down 2 impi to pillage 3SE of Mars (deleting the impi afterwards). Since neither of them have 2 workers in range of the Dye's tile we're safe. 2metra's delay bought us 2 turns smile




I went ahead and spent the 100g to upgrade both of our Triremes to Caravels. I don't know why Commodore moved a galley/Trireme pair in range of our Caravels. Did he not know that we have circumnavigation? And anyways, they are not any closer to doing us damage there than they were inside the city. Maybe it was a trap? But I killed both.




We do not have Commodore's graphs, but from the demographics screen and the graphs we can actually see we are able to infer some useful information about Commodore anyway (demos/graphs spoilered) ... Commodore's GNP and Production are both lower than us, because we're #2, and AT is #1 in both. From the power graph, AT, TT, and 2metra are all just about equal. Since the mean of Jowy and us is about average the cluster must be below average and Commodore must be Rival Best in power.

I offered Banking to Commodore for peace. We do not really want to give up gold because we want the to tech either Rifles or Cannon. I have to doubt that he'll accept, given that it was planned with 2metra and it'd seem like he was backing out, but maybe. I'm tempted to throw in 200g in addition next turn, because 10-turns of peace would ensure that we can repulst 2metra and get peace on our terms. (Remember that galley trick I mentioned earlier? ... it won't work exactly the same because I don't think we can spare the knights to threaten his capital, but we can still fork all 3 of this cities on that lake.)




Here's our current military. We're 2-3 battles away from another GGeneral. What to do with him? Options:

– Super unit ... e.g. 3 move knight (speaking of which, I noticed that Commodore currently has a 3 move knight, so we need to beware)
– Sprinkle promote ... not sure this is the best, but maybe? Could be combined with semi-super unit to still get a 3-move knight while spreading the EX among several other units as well.
– settle ... We already have Theocracy for 2-promo units, so don't think this is the most effective use. We could put it in the HE city, but again we already have enough XP here for 3-promo knights so ...
– Save it until we have Military Science and use it to build a Military Academy in another of our hammer-heavy cities in our west. I think this is the best. Apocalypse is a good candidate because it's hammer heavy and near both AT and TT. I think that this is the best option.

This raises another point. Military Science is another option for the next tech. This would unlock Grenadiers, which cannot be drafted frown but are still 12str and would counter enemy Rifles/knights/maces. As the next tech it would also allow us to quickly set up a Military Academy. Definitely not sold on any of the Rifling/Steel/Military Science options yet. What is your opinion of each and which would you think most beneficial in our situation?

To be honest, I don't know which unit you're talking about. To my knowledge/memory the only scouting units we have at present are 1 sentry HA in TT's lands and 1 spy in AT's lands. I'm pretty sure our impi from 2metra's landed in Sheep, and the HA in 2metra was killed already.

Question: how is GNP calculated again? Our beakers per turn is currently higher than our GNP, and I'm pretty sure GNP includes culture and EP in the equation ...

EDIT: maybe our massive deficit is dragging the GNP value down?

I logged in to check, because I couldn't think of any unit that I'd left in range. There are none in range of Commodore or 2metra.

I'm not sold either, but I think we should cash in on GM (escort with AT LEAST 3 units).
If military academy then in porcuoine.

So what are we going to do with our GMerchant and GEngineer?

Minor disagreement with you. I changed Volcano back to Bank. The caravel is not need in our war plans. We have 2 already by Commodore, and can build 3 more from Doughnut in the time it'll take to get 1 out of Volcano. It'll take 12 turn of building + 3 turns of moving to get to either front. I am really hoping that the war(s) will be over by then with 10-turns of peace signed. The bank will be slow, but since we're running breakeven around 20-30% it'll be getting us 15gpt about 70% of the time, or real 12gpt. We really have nothing that would suit us better.

Ah, I was not even looking for enemies inside TT's land. I just assumed we were safe since we were quite a distance from 2metra's border there. I'm already logged out now, and for something little like that it's not really worth crying over. We lose the HA in either case, and the extra promo isn't going to ruin our game.
