Is that character a variant? (I just love getting asked that in channel.) - Charis

[SPOILERS - PBEM17] novice and spaceman - Suryavarman of India

Yeah I think it's fun to see how it plays out, even if Darrell must get an aneurism not to win.

Anyway, played turn 157, nothing to report. Darrell has plastics in 1, we'll have it in 2. That means hydro plants in Cash Cow and Capital. Other cities are still on labs and factories.
I have to run.

Yay! We're the good guys!

Any other comments?

Played turn 158. I've never gotten this suggestion before:

Building, and stuff.

Hydro plants next in Capital and Cash cow. While we're waiting for Darrell to complete another tech, we can let cities that are starving work one less specialist. We also need a cash infusion, so maybe run max tax next turn. Or aim to make do with wealth builds. Capital can build some wealth after the Hydro Plant, while waiting for the Apollo Program to complete.

How many turns do you think this game has left? At what point does it make sense to just build wealth or research everywhere / many places?

Around 20 turns until the end of the spaceship tech tree? I figure we're completing our current science buildings, and then we need to figure out how many production cities we need (so Factories there) and how many should just go straight to wealth/research. However, cities that are going to do this will not have many hammers, as we'll probably be keeping their farms and running specialists.

Not sure why we have three long-term laboratories being built though. Those are not worthwhile.

How many production cities are needed to build the spaceship?

Btw, we've never built Wall Street - the candidate cities haven't had the hammers for it, and now it doesn't seem worth it.

Liquid Assets and Net Profit should just build wealth/research. Farmer's Market can get very good production though if we workshop it, in which case it will want the Laboratory and a Factory, and maybe a power plant.

I've started planning the spaceship build. We have 11 cities that can be converted to production. They will get pre-workshopped. We're currently missing pre-workshops in the southeastern corner of our main blob, the rest is ready.

This turn I changed some scientists to merchants, to stop losing gold. We'll still get Computers in 2, and next turn we'll have a better multiplier due to Darrell finishing it.

Our production cities are finishing up laboratories and factories. A few cities are finishing off science buildings and will go to wealth.

Here's a spreadsheet listing our production cities, and their projected yields. Our capital will be a monster, with 113 base hammers in a golden age! That's 463 hammers per turn when building SS Life Support, so it should actually be buildable in 1 turn with overflow from the previous spaceship part.

https://docs.google.com/spreadsheet/pub?...utput=html

The spreadsheet also lists our remaining techs, costing 55k beakers. That's about 20 turns of teching. Ideally we'll finish all spaceship parts 21 turns from now, then, and reach Alpha Centauri in 31 turns. So Dave, your cultural victory target is Turn 190.

Hang on, what? Dave is going for a culture victory?

Also, where do we get the guaranteed non-GS from? Bulbing Fusion?

Yes, judging by the flurry of activity in his thread and the lurker thread, and the fact that he completed Sistine's this turn.

Hopefully, yes.
