Sommer knows that Sullla is on our team. This is a smear-campaign they're running against us to get what they want. I'm losing more and more respect for Sommer and 2metra each passing day.

I'm beginning to think that we don't actually want to play with Sommer & 2metra. Just because there is an intersite diplo game doesn't mean we have to play in it.

Not much for eloquent speeches so I'll lay it out in list:

• If this didn't go to Parkin, you're a coward straight up, and a slippery one at that. Say these things to people's faces.
  
• Parkin has been playing at RB for a while now (after the cited incident, which is 2+ years old at this point judging by the post-date), and we are confident that he will properly uphold our integrity as our representative.
  
• Your timing makes us suspect that this isn't about Parkin or anything he's done in the past, but rather you trying to maximize your chances in the game, before it's even started, by smearing other players and sites.
  
• We just wanted to play a game of Civilization with people we don't normally play with. Perhaps it was naive of us to expect the diplomacy to be about the game, rather than about the rules and the people themselves!

My above assumes it went far and wide and not just to Team RB. Frankly, given the content I would not be surprised if it went our to more than our team.

If it went to other teams, I expect them to see through this straight away. So no need for us do anything.
Maybe just send this privately to metra and leave it at that.
But I would really prefer to do nothing.

Yeah, I've been on the fence quite a while. I think it's obvious that Team CFC's idea of fun isn't to play civ with diplomacy, it's to play diplomacy with civ. So much that they started playing while everybody else is trying to set up rules and they don't seem to care if they drag on the rules because they are playing their game already.

I am going to withdraw from my role on the team (when I signed up for helping with diplomacy) because I don't think this will be a game I have fun participating in. I'll probably post here as long as there is discussion, since if I withdrew entirely I would probably just go argue with 2metra and Sommer on the CFC forums.

Do we have any consensus as a team on how to respond? I think some kind of response would be justified. I would prefer to notifiy the game administrator that one of the teams is running a deliberate personal smear campaign - but there doesn't seem to be anyone in charge of the Intersite game (which is the whole problem).

At the very least, such a message is wildly inappropriate. There should be some kind of repercussions.

I agree with Sullla. We can't just be quiet, we need to fight back if we're going to play in this game.

I think we should wait for Kyan to take a crack at it. If we get a response in the same day that should be good, but better to get a good response a few hours later than a hurried one now.

I also find it funny that it was sent to Sullla. Maybe 2metra doesn't realize Sullla is on our team? Maybe it was a mistake? Maybe it was intentional and made to look like a slip?

I got it as well. Also, Sullla mentioned several people got the PM and since I hadn't spoken to him about it I assume there's one or more others. They knew we were on the team.

Re: whether to respond - I'd like to hear Kyan's thoughts. For a while now we've made the call to not go toe-to-toe with Sommer and devolve into endless arguments over minutiae. I lean towards treating this as a different matter, but I'm unsure.
