T145 and T146 CFC notes

I think I can confirm that CFC now has 110 total pop, down from 132 as they had at the beginning of T145. As T145 ended they whipped or drafted 3 pop, and performed 7 2-pop whips. On T146 they grew back 2 pop, and has so far done two 2-pop and one 3-pop whip, for a net -22 pop.

The cities they whipped or drafted during T145 were Mantra (-2), Daivagati (-3), Raj (-2), Astan (-3), Bono (-2), Lokapara (their border city, -2), and Hansa (-1). I'm fairly sure Hansa was 2-pop whipped and grew a pop point back as the turn rolled, leaving a draft or a 1-pop whip that grew back immediately. I think Abhi is a likely candidate, or even Indira.

The whips this turn were done in Mantra (2-pop, had 26H invested and now has 85H, probably from a production switch), Bono (3-pop, 12 to 124H, probably a forge), and Abhi (2-pop, 17 to 92H, probably a library or possibly a knight).

A list of their buildings in their various cities:

Indira: jewish, palace, granary, jewish temple, library, academy, forge, market, jewish monastery,

Terasvin: jewish (holy), granary, jewish temple, pyramids

Mantra: jewish, monument, granary, library, barracks,

Daivagiti: jewish, granary, barracks, forge,

Raj: jewish, granary, courthouse, barracks,

Lana: jewish, granary, jewish temple, library, courthouse, forge, market,

Lakshmi: jewish, granary, jewish temple, library, forge, taj mahal,

Stupid city/Lokapara: jewish, granary, jewish monastery, library,

Abhi: jewish, granary, lighthouse, Moai, courthouse, barracks,

Bono: hindu, granary, barracks,

Astan: jewish, granary, barracks,

Hansa: granary, walls,

Baraha: jewish, granary,

Delhi / pig-iron city: jewish, granary,

They have built several barracks in their cities lately, probably both for happiness purposes and in preparation for a military campaign. No stables that I could see, though.

Trivia fact that is probably not that meaningful: I count (in Sullla picture from the turn report) that CFC currently has 109 pop, while we have 153 pop. If they took all the Spanish cities, they would be at 153 pop too smile

[pedant-mode ON]CFC has 110 pop. They have the city of Bombay (T141) that we don't have visibility on.[/pedant-mode OFF]

Additional T146 notes

WPC grew 2 pop, in Southron Shore and Arctica.

The Spanish team probably researched a classical tech this turn, likely with zero power. I've noted down Calendar for now, though they might have researched the tech earlier. This is bad news in a way, since it will put them a longer way from HBR, and they don't have any gold for deficit research.

Apolyton researched Banking. No visible cities grew. They have some leftover score, which either might be land or cities growing in the fog. They have performed one 3-pop whip and one 1-pop whip this turn. I think the 3-pop whip is in the fog, while Malatya was 1-pop whipped.

The German team grew 2 cities (Wasserburg and Worms), received some land points, and I think they researched an ancient tech. With no power increase, I put in a tentative Meditation. As Sullla noted, they also built an academy in their capital with their GS. Not sure that was the best location - I'd have strongly considered putting it in Wittenberge myself, like Apolyton did.

CivFr grew Saumur to size 4, and probably another city as well. Saumur has also finished a forge.

CivPlayers didn't grow any visible cities, but I managed to work out that their third city - Tlatelolco - probably is size 11. They are probably building a national wonder in Xochicalco - the city is up to 249H now, so it's probably the National Epic, which also fits with them farming the flood plains 2N of the city. I'm a little surprised they haven't chopped the forests around the city, though.

They have performed 5 1-pop whips this turn. Among visible cities Texcoco (131H), Tlaxcala (125H), and Tlacopan (116H) were whipped.

Univers grew Opossum, Valium, PortAluminium, and Sanctum. I guess they received some land score and possibly grew a city in the fog as well. Last turn they whipped out 4 forges and 1 library.

This turn they 3-pop whipped their capital to 206H, probably for a university, and 2-pop whipped Yapamordum to 127H, probably for a forge.

Adding in CFC's whips earlier, that means 21 pop has been whipped this turn in total so far, and 33 pop was whipped last turn. Most teams seems to have more infrastructure than us, but it costs them dearly in pop growth.

T147 C&D notes

The most interesting team this turn was CivPlayers, with a 54-point score increase. They finished their National Epic in Xochicalco, and have five visible pop growths. Based on this, I have revised their list of known techs, removing Currency (no markets visible) and adding Aesthetics and Literature. That leaves 26 score unaccounted for this turn, probably a classical or medieval tech, some more pop, and some land.

WPC started a golden age with their Great Scientist, but they didn't adopt any new civics. No pop changes that I could see, so they only received land score this turn.

The Spanish team grew 3 cities, and also finally founded their eight city. It was founded before I managed to log in to the game, so I don't know how many tiles it added.

The German team grew 4 cities, and adopted Buddhism as their state religion, and they now have Buddhism present in Warendorf as well. We will have to see if they spread around the religion some more in the coming turns, but it seems they are going for military builds now from the power graph. The pop growths leave 6 score unassigned, so I think they researched Archery.

CivFr researched Feudalism, grew their capital to 19 and Sidi Brahim to 3. They also researched Feudalism. The rest of their score chagen is a mix of land and pop, probably 11 land (7 of which comes a turn early) and a city growing to size 6.

Univers grew at least 5 cities, maybe 6.

Apolyton are clearly on the way to Economics and the "free" Great Merchant. I say "free" because they have done very deep beelines and lack many important techs, like Calendar, HBR, Construction, Engineering, IW, and the entire Aesthetics line. They can backfill quickly and with plenty of known tech bonuses, but they will have to backfill.

Bursa was whipped either 7->5 or 8->5. They also grew at least 6 other cities, and whipped away as many pop before I logged in, in one 3-, one 2-, and one 1-pop whip. One was in Bursa, and the other two were in fogged cities.

CFC grew back 6 pop, for a total of 110. This means that since the start of T145 they've whipped and drafted 30 pop, and grown back 8. Their newest city (Bombay, T141) hasn't grown yet.

"Ok, let's tech Archery. That should hold them off."

I presume they are picking that up on the way to Feudalism...

Which they'll finish on T155 when half their cities are already gone? KJN, can you give a decent estimate of when the Germans would get to Feud if they use their recent bpt rate?

Well, I doubt half their cities will be gone by T155. Realistically, I can see them down six cities (four to us and two to WPC), simply based on geography. But the only "core" cities that would be touched would be Worms, Wilhelmshaven, and maybe Wismar.

Anyway, without Alphabet I'm pretty unsure about the German tech path. I do know they still do not have Monarchy (Wanzleben is founded on the wines, but they do no have it connected). They have plenty of gold (563)g, so can run deficit research for a long time (unless they spend the gold on unit upgrades). They have just started to turn up research to the max, and I wouldn't be surprised if it's Monarchy or Math.

Worst case would be 2t for Monarchy and 4t for Feudalism, but that's an absolutely worst case. But their GNP spike this turn is quite impressive.

ETA: Of course, the Germans already know Math, and Construction as well, I realised now. Ie, quite likely they're on to Monarchy now.
