I hope I didn't sound critical, I didn't mean to. I wrote the previous post very quickly and those were my first impressions.
No, no. Feedback is good. Diplomacy is certainly the area I need help in so hopefully we can touch base with each other when needed. Is there anything specifically you would have withheld? and why?

If we can find a reasonable site for sure
kalin Wrote:That's a very nice spot up there 2S of the fish. We'll want a city there most likely. Also moving Dice was good. As you pointed out the incas are 3 tiles away from the capital and even if the do move closer (which I think they will) we'll be in a race in which case I expect you to stay awake and check every minute, so that we can move before them Just kidding...
Regarding the fish spot that's precisely where I had in mind. Wouldn't hurt to defog the rest around there, but that's probably where a city will go. Metternich moved due W, so no need to worry about him. I think I finally believe the Incan's are committed to peace with us. Atleast for the near term.

Kalin,
We might be in a pickle. Ellorrs won, surviving at 0.9/2 and at 2/2 xp. However another lion has shown up in exactly the same spot. For whatever reason we can not use the promotion this turn so I would suggest we move him. I want to go NE but that's flat grassland. What do you think?
I moved Dice, SW and there's a bear directly S of her now. slightly better than a 50/50 chance for her.
In other news, Greece has discovered BW and revolted to slavery and grown to size 3. Mali and Rome both discovered techs but I'll have to look at that more to figure it out.

Things look a bit scary, but I think we should be ok. The worst thing would be if Dice dies, but she (thanks for pointing the gender out ) should survive fine: should be 3 vs 3.4.
Ellors needs to be moved though. I don't think he'll survive the lion. What's up with the promotion... very confusing. I also thought we'd be able to use it this turn and was counting on it!
Thanks for keeping track of the demos. I had a very busy day so I had little time for computations. Hopefully this weekend...

Moved Ellorrs NE and revealed cows and Gold. This is probably supposed to be a contested area between civs. I'm off to bed. Might have time for some calcs / c&d tomorrow evening.

Hey Kalin,
Please don't end turn today. I didn't move or promote Ellorrs yet. I also want to do some calcs as I think we should start on a worker immediately. BW will come in right around the time we can whip so let me run some #'s and hopefully we can have a quick chat tonight sometime.

Hey Kalin,
I don't have much time today, so thought I should explain what I think we should do. I haven't had time to crunch any numbers but I really feel like we should switch to a worker and work the furs. I'm hoping I'll have a chance to do the math tonight to confirm it would be better.
Also I'm not sure what to do with Ellorrs. If we're going to move him this turn we should put combat on him. I'd prefer woody but there doesn't appear to be a forest nearby unless we double back. I'd like to move to the gold but the lion still might be able to hit him, so what are your thoughts? Maybe just heal for a turn?

Hi Athlete,
I am in the same situation of not having too much time today
I had a similar thought about switching to worker at size 3, but I think it's still better to grow to size 4. I did a couple of very quick simulations and by turn 30 we'd have a worker and 2 warriors if we grow to size 4. If we switch to worker to size 3, we get the worker out 1T earlier, and end up with more food in the bar, but with only 3 warriors, although we gain a bit of gold by working furs while building the worker.
The plans are very similar. However, unless I see some more evidence for switching to the worker at size 3, I think we should stick to growing to size 4 then double whip...

P.S.: Not sure about Ellors. How about giving woody promo, then heal on the spot?

Kalin,
I'll play the turn late tonight. That will give me a chance to put some #'s together. I almost feel if we go to size 4 we should double whip a worker than possibly another one right after. Any thoughts?
RE: Ellorrs, sounds as good as anything I can think of for now.

Thanks Athlete. I am having doubts about the second worker right now, so we should discuss. I am thinking about settler after worker, it all depends on where and if we see copper.
Are you suggesting 2-pop whipping one worker then whipping another for 1-pop? That's an interesting idea that I haven't yet considered. it could work... We'd improve the rice then chop and build a settler through chops while growing maybe...

That's precisely what I'm thinking. Though I've yet to figure out if it would be better to wait for max overflow from the double whip or do the double whip right away. The former gets the 2nd worker out sooner but delays the first. The latter gets the first worker sooner, but delays the 2nd. I'm leaning towards delaying the first right now but I haven't crunched those #'s yet.
