Obviously I’m not holding onto the save to delay the others. That would be rather selfish.

You two made me laugh, took me a couple of seconds to figure out the first one.


All in all, we seem to be a positive lot.
I wasn’t just being overly dramatic, I honestly felt there was a pretty good chance of the game ending right there.
I would have voted c), but maybe that’s me being pessimistic.


End result:

The 6 who voted for a) were right.
The one who voted d)… shall be shot.

Conan had an urgent call of nature, and spent the turn parked 1N of Kwythellar.

A shame, as I had a really cool picture if he’d attacked and lost.

Turn 25:

Vanilla Ice moved SE-S onto a forest. Nothing much to see, except that he can reach another forest next turn.
More importantly, here’s Conan, with the second Kurio warrior having just been produced at the end of the turn.




I would say I’m pretty safe now.
Hopefully Conan attacks next turn and loses.
If he delays a second turn, then I’ll be faced with the choice of attempting to overwhelm him with numbers, or trying something tricky.
Worst case scenario is that Conan attacks, wins, and suffers so little damage as to give the new warrior poor odds.


Demographics:

There’s only one point of interest for this turn, but it’s a big one.
Selrahc's score went up by 11 points, which ofc is a tech.
Let’s return to the breakdown. He sure didn’t make it easy with all that switching.

Research of 10 for 9 turns = 9 x 10 = 90b
90 - 85 (first tech) = 5 beakers overflow
T9 to T12 research of 12 means 4*12 + 5 = 53b
T13 to T16 research of 14 means 4*14 +53 = 109b
T17 to T22 research of 12 means 6*12 + 109 = 181b
T23 research of 11 means 181 + 11 = 192b
T24 to T25 research of 12 means 144 + 24 = 216b

Can I now bring your attention to a comment I made a while ago:

Option #2 is the warlike choice for the Illians.
It means that Selrahc would have no worker techs beyond the ability to build roads, and would put him 1 tech away (Philosophy) from being able to build the Priests of Winter ritual.

If I see him teching this I’m going to start shitting bricks.

That would explain Selrahc’s focus on hammers and GNP rather than food, and his lack of worker techs.

I’m still quietly hoping that his recent accumulation of unexplained hammers (last produced warrior on T18, so 7 turns at 9h/turn = 63 hammers) is going into a worker. But currently, it could only build roads.

Next turn will reveal all.
If he starts researching something with no prerequisite, then it will be Agriculture and I can stay at DEFCON 2.
If it’s a tech with a prerequisite, then it will almost certainly be Philosophy, and we move up to DEFCON 1.
There’s no other rational reason why a player would so exclusively ignore early development except to try and rush.


Edit: One last point. Rival highest GNP of 14 after Selrahc researched his tech.
I had Cull pegged at 15 GNP at around T6. Either I'm wrong, or it's more evidence he's reconfigged his tiles to get out a fast warrior or two.

I also need to start reminding myself that Cull and Sareln have had free techs from huts.

There's still some defogging left but there really doesn't appear to be a whole lot of great land west of the Illians (your starting area) does there?

These posts here give a good idea of the land between the Illians and the Kuriotates.
No other unit has been in that direction recently, so not much has changed.
