Much as I like to have you guys all paranoid we're just bemoaning the fun police.
I've got some dirt on my shoulder, can you brush it off for me?

Just whining about Sullla being the fun police and pooping all over the "trash talking" thread.

Alright so I went ahead and did the math on who to run full research:
WK produces 126 gpt.
India at 100% research: 271 bpt; -88 gpt gets paired with:
France at 50%: 151 bpt; -40 gpt
For a total of 422 bpt and -2gpt (after WK funds)
France at 100%: 262 bpt, -120 gpt
India @ 50%: 140 bpt, +6 gpt
Total: 402 bpt, +12 gpt. My 60% research is 166 bpt, -13gpt, so every other turn I could run 60% because of that gold surplus, giving us an total of 415 bpt ([166+140]/2 + 262).
Thus, it is better for me to run 100% and Dave to run whatever is left over (he does have 120 in the bank for this turn and can obviously spend it all for this one turn though).

Oh and with me finishing two libraries at the end of turn that likely skewed even more toward having India run 100% research.

Oh dear, this shit in the Turn Tracking & UN Threads has just gotten out of hand. I agree that whether or not we should have such a thread should be decided by the players and not by Sulla, but Thoth seems like he is spoiling for a fight and is being really aggressive about it.

Agreed. I agree with Thoth's side of this, but that is getting way too heated so I'm going to stay out of it for now.

Just a thought, if the GS bulbing Edu is born on t140, at our current tech rate we're probably going to be wasting beakers bulbing. Does one of you want to switch to Optics or save gold until then?

I worked out the math, and I think we will sink about ~1500 beakers into the tech before bulbing, just about enough to finish it off with the GS and avoid waste. However, if this is the case, as we get closer to bulbing the tech one of us can easily switch to optics to avoid that situation.
Speaking of tech, I had a chat with Mackoti this morning about future tech path that I thought was worth posting here:
Quote:rbmackoti: are the great scientis coming online?
how many vilage do you guys have?
me: idk how many villages off the top of my head, but I already have pumped out 3 GS's with another coming in a couple turns
went for two academies and bulbing philosophy
rbmackoti: well perhaps its worth
me: I think that's what got Team #1 to polish off liberalism
rbmackoti: ok
i see
me: seeing us get paper and philosophy on the same turn
with the possibility of another GS or two on ice to bulb education
rbmackoti: do you plan to get any more?
me: one more to bulb part of education
rbmackoti: i see
me: then a GA, 4 turns from now
rbmackoti: well printing press its not bad
i see that you have enough
to finish education with one
perhaps you should consider the other
for printing press
its in way for rifles
and gives a strong bust
for everyone not just for a civ
me: we thought about it, but each of us only has one city (our capital) with any number of villages and so it's not as great as it is usual
medieval start = less time to grow cottages
rbmackoti: but you need it anyway
me: for rifles?
rbmackoti: yup
or you go canons?
me: our current plan was after education: optics -> gunpowder
but flexible on that
gunpowder would lend itself to early cannons
go chemistry -> steel
rbmackoti: canons very good for defending
and iron works very strong
and now the forum goes bussy
me: ah, I got that too
if you don't mind I'll post this chat in our team thread, see what WK and Shoot have to say
I've been advocating heading for representation
but beelining steel would be very strong
rbmackoti: well you have lots of food on map?
me: we're running mercantilism (no foreign trade routes available anyway) and I'm running lots of specialists as Phi
rbmackoti: could be worth
me: it would be something around a ~150+ base beaker boost
rbmackoti: perhaps the thing wich give a break
for you
breaktrough
i think its the corect spell
well reprezentation its very strong
me: only problem is losing HR
rbmackoti: but happines its usulay its a problem
i was writing this
me: lol :D
I think the happiness would be manageable
rbmackoti: the problem its that
its expensive
techs to there
and nationails its not very apealing
constitution expensive
me: it would be for drafting musketeers if nothing else
me and WK both working on theaters for globe
rbmackoti: so you both want to go for nationalism
and shoot stays in burocracy?
me: that was one thought
rbmackoti: well i think its a good one
me: like you said though, problem is how expensive Nationalism + Constitution is
rbmackoti: but then you will never get bac the price for great scientist used to build an academy
me: he is about a ~30 bpt boost at breakeven research, and WK is funding me above breakeven for most of my turns
he would have bulbed ~1500 beakers, so he'll make that in ~35 turns
if I stay in bureacracy
rbmackoti: if you gave up on burocracy...
me: say about 50ish turns
rbmackoti: i see
strange game medieval starts
if you dont have a plan from begginig
you are lost
me: yeah, need to have some idea what you're doing
rbmackoti: thinking more and more i think that chemistry
its the right play
and get somehow
an unit at 10 experience

True, PP leads to rifles, but we only have roughly 20 villages between the 3 of us right now. Sure that will go up the longer we wait, but a increase of that size isn't high priority (after gunpowder at least).

It's another long term option. Chem unlocks frigates which with astro will ensure naval supremecy. Cannons and IW are both obviously great too. Trouble is, there are other good stuff at Communism, Physics, MT and Rifling too, deciding between them will be fun.

In the midst of everything else we're doing, we do need something to unlock HE. With Theo/Barracks/Stable, I can build Knights with 7xp. Perhaps if I gift one or two to Shoot and he uses them against Hangzhou, we can get one up to 10xp?
BTW, I won't have any internet from tomorrow until the 22nd. I'll leave instructions in my thread and in-game so one of you can sub for me.
