Honestly - half the point of a choke is to make the foe built units instead of focusing on growth. Looks like mission accomplished to me!
But yes, that's the reason I'd leave Sian alone. For Now He's building units anyway (and if we're carefully non-aggressive from here, he may direct them mackoti-ward), while Shoot, for all we know, is still growth-oriented.
I don't have any thoughts on how to use the Artist.

Turn 140 (Turn 15)
Had a lovely conversation with Sian:
Quote:sianist: you have a habit of logging onto gmail just as i'm about to send the save
me: I'm psychic, what can I say
sianist: hello to my Horse maybe?
me: touche...
you are truly a crafty adversary
sianist: the whip is my favorite weapon
me: that's what she said
Thus burned by my razor wit, Sian went offline and I went to check out the situation in the game.
He certainly isn't taking any shit from my me and my wannabe choke. I snuck my scout in to get eyes on his capital; and then did what any brave, self-respecting Spaniard would do.
I briefly considered staying on the tile, facing off against his HA with a 15% fortify bonus. However, I ultimately decided I would have a greater chance of survival running away. If he decides to pursue I'm dead. However, if he sees me now leaving him alone, he may turn his HA around to go pester Mackoti instead of killing my archer.
If he decides to beeline his HA toward me, I should have one of my own waiting for him by the time he gets here.
End Turn.

If we are going to kill that HA with our own HA, then we'll want to double-team it alongside an archer. We could either leave an archer exposed on flatland or a mere hill, and ambush the HA once it's taken a few hits on the defence. Alternatively, we just straight up attack with a HA and an archer if it tries to bypass us.
Nevertheless, the very act of Sian getting so many troops out so early, alongside our ability to scout those troops, puts us ahead

QFT. That's most of a settler that Sian didn't build instead. Nicely done!

Oy, six days without updating.
First off, apologies to my ded-lurkers for my lack of reports. I've just been having one of those weeks.
So, I'll do a proper write-up once the t146 save makes its way back around. But in the meantime, allow me to review the last five turns.
First off, Sian killed my archer with his HA. The note on the save read: "you forced my hand," to which I almost mailed back:
Ironic this, since I was trying to run away anyway. It's almost like he was giving me a chance to run away, which I didn't take because it would have allowed his HA to attack my guy on the flatland. So passes on killing my archer one turn, then attacks the next?
I think I'm killing Sian for this.
On the home front, I have three workers tooling around now, a HA almost done in Pindicator IV, and the GL being built in Gryphon. Things are looking solid for completing it around t155 (t30).
Shoot and Nakor's scout is still poking around in our west, I'm thinking I'll kill it once I get the HA out, then go scout in that direction.
I need to scout the middle of this donut eventually....
Anyway, end turn.

You're killing Sian because he shook off your choke? Don't be silly. Kill him sure, but not to avenge the silly archer.
In the nearterm, Sian has produced too much military, will you be prepared to defend if he sends it your way? specifically, how many turns until that HA can reach your lands?
And the requisite rebuke: More Updates!! I understand busy weeks, but look forward to it clearing up.
End Rebuke.

Sentries! Get them, love them. A good option is a spear on a hill, it means they can't cheaply dislodge them without 1-movers.

So with that in mind, in this game I'm betting everything on being able to go hog wild with Cuirassiers.
Stay on Target! Stay on Target!
If you try to kill Sian before Cuirs, then you're abandoning the plan, and worse, probably trying to fight a medieval-era war at tech parity. That can't end well.

That archer had a wife and kids...

I'll have an HA of my own before his can reach me, so it shouldn't be an issue. Copper will be hooked up before long too.

Was that a TF2 reference? At any rate, good call

Wasn't actually being serious about attacking him now, I just enjoy being theatrical :neenernee
