I'm looking at my inbox and I definitely don't have anything from you, Ioan. The PM-sending interface here isn't great, though, and I can see you thinking you've sent me something when it hasn't gone through, or simply experiencing a server hiccup.

Bump - Ioan? Are you there? It'd be a good idea to make a thread if you're actually intent on playing.

Anyway, everyone has picks in, so I rolled up second-round options (assuming Ioan's moving forward) and it worked out that it fits even if Kaiser is swapped in, so I might as well make that available to the second-rounders.

I fell the same as suboptimal and CMF. It would be nice to include more players into our small community but it seems lately a bunch of games have been hindered by players dropping out due to loss of interest and it sucks to have to end a game because someone is not committed.

I can chalk lack of communication to being new and not wanting to step on toes while we set this game up and a screwy PM system. In these PBEMs, communication is key. Better to let everybody know if you are going to delay the game so their expectations can adjust and we are not waiting around in the dark.

I say, let Ioan play if he can commit to one turn a day for months on end and commit to communicating here if turns are going to be delayed. If not, we can go on with Kaiser.

Also, again, does your comment "except Saturday" mean just this Saturday or all Saturdays? If you can commit to the above, please respond here and start a thread. Also, provide your play window. I say we give Ioan until the end of the weekend to respond, otherwise, we move forward with Kaiser.

Yep, that is why I said end of weekend. Gives him a day to check in and respond. I believe the time stamps are relative to your local time zone, i.e. mine is CDT and yours is EDT.

Having played some games since New Frontier came out, I want highlight one new introduced disaster since we might or not make rule about it, I am talking about meteor showers.
With that I don't mean world ending comet strikes that rains upon world when sea level reaches max height in Apocalypse mode, but a small strike on one tile which is always neutral terrain.

I am not sure whether meteor showers do only appear when New Frontier is installed or it is part of update for all games including G+S.
The problem is that for some reason designers decided to give player who reaches the damaged tile first a free heavy cavalry depending where you are at tech tree (Heavy Chariot, knight or even tank).
Well why do a heavy cavalry sudden spawn from meteor impact? Honestly I don't have a idea, sort of E.T. or something?

If a lucky player happen to encounter it in first 10 turns, he/she suddenly get free Heavy Chariot which means extra scouting unit due stupid luck, or even extra rusher for free and extra defense for city.
My propose for rule is that if you happen to stumble upon meteor impact and get Heavy Chariot or later unit, delete that unit.

only one unit that scales by tech, not very impressed. wouldn't ban it. I'm also pretty sure it wouldn't happen in the first 10 turns

Maybe it's their way of highlighting swords from meteorite iron, supposedly sent from heaven. Didn't Attila the Hun make some claims along those lines?

I think the meteor strike disaster is only available if new frontier is loaded and active.  If whoever's makes the map keeps new frontier disabled while doing so we should be ok.
