My pleasure, I'm glad somebody is enjoying them. I'm never been confident there's more than a few lurkers actually following this game because there doesn't seem to be a lot of updates from anybody but me.

Keeping a thread is truly the biggest aid in helping me to improve upon my game. Keeping track of my mistakes and learning from them...that and it forces me to make sure I have a plan in place for the most part.

Seven to me:

It'll still be a while. I just researched Agriculture (lol, that's what happens when there are zero grains anywhere near you) and am on construction to better match Jowy's army. Not sure what is next (Metal Casting, Civil Service?) but it should be a while before Calendar still. It's so expensive for what it does!


Not to be bothersome, but is there a turn I can expect the gold resource on? Maybe knowing that will let me plan ahead a bit better.

Hey Seven,

I can't have the gold hooked up until T107. If you request it on your T106, I can accept on my T107 and you'll have it straight away. If something comes up like more barbs than I'd normally expect that might change but I can't see me needing to delay the gold more than that. It's so surprising you didn't have any grains near you. Come to think of it I don't think I actually have any grains hooked up yet either. Strange! There certainly not plentiful on this map.

Thanks for that. Quite a surprise anybody on here would check on that! It was very nice of you. Just thought I'd pass you a tidbit I learnt. Seven is on to Construction right now. Probably not due for another 4-7 turns is my guess. He says he just researched agriculture so he's got to save gold for a few turns than can probably knock it out.

How did the worker finish its turn when next to a barb? Good promotions, across a river, small fortification bonus - just going to have to hunker down and hope for the best. But better if you can get a unit finishing in the city as insurance.

Well,

no time for pics but the barb activity has been cleaned up. From a couple of posts ago, the axe suicided against my axe (I also had a spear and 3 workers there) by Montreal so no worries there. The barb axe by Niagara Falls suicided across the river and the warrior moved into a forest 1SW of Niagara Falls. My axe then attacked him in the forest at 99.1 % odds or something like that and won. So I'm barb free for the moment.

The chops went into the forge as planned, I just expected to win. The worker completed a cottage/chop and my axe moved out of the city to guard it.
