When You Put It That Way....

I saw someone paying an Ist for NM rush an another for Hell rush. A generous offer, so I took it. He also gave me his Forge reward which turned out to be a Gul. I said."You must be rich". He told me he can only play maybe 6 hours a week so he just buy the runes. $0.20 for an Ist.

YOU MEAN ALL THIS HARD WORK I DID WAS WORTH ONLY $0.40! shakehead

OTOH. I traded 3 Lo for a Ber so I can now make an Enigma in addition. But I think the Ber for Beast would bring more fun for multiple toons. What do you think?

I'd go for Beast, that makes entirely new builds possible, Enigma just makes existing builds impatient.

Agreed. I found enigma to be boring on most toons. Only advantage is for organ farming--tele is nice to get in and out quick, but ymmv.

Haha, that's funny on several levels. lol

Why would you want more power!?!?

Reason why I think D2R (and maybe all Diablo games to follow) has taken a turn for the worse.
The more I play D2 the more I come to appreciate the intricacies that is hidden inside the original game design. The design that is broken since Patch 1.10 with its all powerful runewords. Now all at a sudden the whole game is balanced on that. Stats points don't even matter anymore, so much so that all mainstream build guides tell you Dex and Str to wear gear and dump all to Vit.

People play the game however they like. What I am not okay with is that in order to make the game mindlessly easier for those who PTW or those who farm endlessly as if it is a full time job, the game balance shifts to make it harder for the average casual guy. The trend, it seems, is to give players God Mode. I mean, well, if you have ever joined a Bnet Baal Run game you would know how overpowered the toons can be. And yet, they are the ones getting the attention and given yet more power.

So I went and captured a short vid of how quick they are doing Baal runs. Lister wave, 4 seconds flat. And that is mostly the effort of one person - as most people are just there doing nothing, as was I. Never mind Baal, he is often dead by the time I load the level.
And they should get more power!?!? You know what, if you want to feel like god, you don't even have to farm gear. just take your lvl 99 toon and play in Norm diff. What's the difference?

OTOH, did they nerf Diablo Clone big time? I don't remember it being that easy before D2R. Any Anni you get is well earned. Now, it is such a ho hum event. HysteRio now does him in 35 seconds, with no danger to him or the merc. Just name lock DClone and keep the attack button down. How dumb is that?
The big improvement in killing speed is credited to switching out the merc's Unbending Will and put on a humble Law Bringer (Crystal Sword 5-15 damage), still with Crescent Moon on the main hands. The difference is, the merc was missing DClone most of the time but now he is landing hits with the -50% Target Defense. I don't know if the Decrep from the sword was a blessing or curse since it overwrites Battle Cry and Life Tap.

Holy Grail

Click Bait

Not quite completing the found-list but the best item I've found so far. It's got to worth a couple of Bers and more. I am not trading it. Looks like FourNonBlondes is going to be quite a happy Spear Zon with this and her Infinity smile

Why I like farming the Stony Tomb over all other areas (well, except Mephy for lower items). So far this season, this place has dropped me a Jah, Cham, couple of Vex/Ist, Arkaine's Valor, Eagle Horn, etc., etc.

I know everyone hypes all the Lvl 85 area as if each of them is the best place to farm. What are you going to do if you are a streamer? You have to make click bait titles and sound excited about your topic. What is the last memorable high rune you have gotten from a ghost type? Don't answer that. If you can remember it just mean it is really rare, if you don't remember, you prove my point. The only sure thing about farming Ghosts is that you will never run out of Mana potions, ID/TP scrolls and you will make a small fortune in gems.

Comparing desirable drops and drop rate from the Ancients Tunnels to the Stony Tombs is like comparing drops from Mephy to Duriel who often just drop 5 Tp scrolls.

PS:

It is insane (tho I am not complaining, it has been a great equalizer between the rich and the poor), I must have SOLD near a hundred unid Annis, and I still have 30 more in stash. The 30 is a little hard to sell right now and I don't want to crash the market by selling too cheap. I am betting the value will keep once they go to non ladder. Worst case scenario, I would ID them and use some myself smile

Russet Russet's Russet Russet - I was thinking 10 BER

Lost and Found. Tho I don't think she needs more Fire Res
[Image: RussetRusset-XL.jpg]

*I was thinking 10 Bers
I would but I need 5 sockets cus I can only afford runes for a mist
[Image: BER%2010%20%20Screenshot016-L.jpg]

Most Profitable Trade - When opportunity knocks, you sell the shirt on your back.
So I turn around and bought back 4 Fire Charms for a total 2 Ist

Now I am a 3 Bers Family. 1 for Beast, 1 for Enigma; and the other one can be Chains of Honor but it looks so boring

Feeling a slight touch of burnout….

So glad the season is over and I can finally settle in to get some real Diablo gaming going. The last season had me chasing the riches as an experiment, specifically without insane farming the likes of 1000 Pit Run and such. Early on the season saw McTyrael Doing a few Meph runs to grab a few usable items, but uncle Meph has not been generous all season long; so much so that I gave up and have not done much of Meph runs at all. It was in her high lvl80s that she was still wearing an ethereal Smoke armor, and the merc was without leech at all. I mean, she should have gotten at least a couple of Worm Skull and Undead Crowns by now. She finally managed to gamble a Leech circlet for the merc at lvl 85.

Running Forge mules was efficient to achieve a certain level of wealth. The drops were way above average in the beginning seeing mostly Ums and up leaning heavily toward Ist and Guls. I have cubed up Vex, Ohms and Los in a week or so. And the power of trades begins, even since Ists runes. At that level, you can let the poor suckers do all the MFing, but you can trade for the most desirable items with an Ist or Vex. The doors open to opportunistic trading once I had a few Ists, Guls, Vex, Ohms and Los. I only cube up when I am making a runeword, otherwise leave the runes as they are. Runes are worth what they are worth when someone needs them. People with higher runes are willing to trade down. I have traded 3 Los for a Ber twice, and another Ber for 4 Fire GCs. Trades such as Vex for 3 Ists happen often.

Near the last 3 weeks, all the Forge runes cubed together probably did not amount to a couple of Vex. There were a couple of Ists and a Gul or 2 but saw mostly Hel to Lums, quite laughable when sometimes the NM drops Ums. Such is the RNG!

But, I have mostly slowed down on Forge runs already. There was a more profitable scam with less work, which might have catapulted my in-game wealth to “rich”. Since I am running 3 boxes, everytime Diablo Clone walks the Earth I would get at least 3 Annihilus. I get more when I am fast enough to kill DC and farm other existing games. My best managed to grab 7 Annihilus during one single event. That must have been before everyone else got wise to farming other games. Since I don’t absolutely have to have, or even shooting for the best, I have only Id’d a handful of Annis for use then sold the rest Unid’d. Anni was going for a Vex a piece but the sale wasn’t happening fast enough. If they blame me for deteriorating the market they are probably right, but I would blame the guys selling SoJs. ;p You know some of those SoJ can't be legit!
I must have sold at least 150 Annis for a Gul each.
And another 30 for an Ist each near the end.

Yes, I now have your Enigma, Infinity, Beast; multiple Fortitudes, BotDs, Deaths, Flickering Flames, CTAs, Hotos and more than a pair of casual Griefs. And 3 Torches for each class.

I have used none of the above except the pair of axes, A BotD and a Death, on HysteRio.

I don’t need any of the stuff, and the stuff will most likely not see any action. This has been an experiment of what it takes to be “rich”.  And, never again.

Yeah, you found the same feeling I did longer ago, in single player. Chasing wealth for wealth's sake is an endless errand to go nowhere. When the only function of wealth is to get more wealth, what purpose does that serve? There's no victory in that because there's no way to lose it.
