Superdeath wants to be the very best Piñata.

Ye, we are on the same page here. Although I found it pretty cool that you apparently ended up working FP instead of copper last turn. I was pretty sure that you would pick the 6-foodhammer copper and did not bother commenting as it's a decent choice and a close case between the FP and the copper (now that the granary is done). In essence it's 5 food + 1 commerce vs 10 hammers --> Thanks to unnerfed whipping, food will be a little bit stronger unless there is a hurry to get the spear out..

Yeah, impossible to say anything about the map balance with limited info, but I would also be a bit worried about the fact that they have a wheat-cows-grasshill silver site that won't make it to their first 3 cities.

Btw, could you change your BUG settings so that it shows the first two digits of the power ratio (in the bottom right corner) and post demos again next turn? I could comment a bit on that + probably provide the last set of detailed micro suggestions crazyeye

The scoreboard now shows the same power ratio as the demos. This was a bug in BUG

Aha. I've not followed the discussion on BUG changes so scratch my commentary then. During PB49 I realized that the power ratios actually show live data and you were able to calculate from them the exact soldier points of your opponents before the graphs were updated. Quite handy due to graph delay in Pitboss.

My implication for SD would have been that in his position I would especially follow the power developments of Noble and Gaspar. I think that's the border area, which is mostly likely to have tensions in the early game. You can't rule out other rushes, but due to land layout they seem somewhat unlikely.

I'll come back to the micro in the evening. Everything else should be pretty obvious for T46, but I'm wondering whether you want to complete the worker ASAP in Shanghai or put a turn into a spear first..

I think my fix is for all versions past PB53. I considered it a bug because BUG is only meant to show information in a better way that is already present in the game.

Makes sense, Charriu  nod

SD, if you want to proceed with T46:

  • Beijing of course continues with the settler
  • Shanghai continues the spear build (you should whip the spear and then 1-turn worker with the overflow, but I'm still thinking whether I like T47 or T48 whip more. T47 gets of course one additional worker turn while T48 whip provides more output out of Shanghai)
  • At Guangzhou chop completes a granary, other work continues with wheat
  • Worker outside borders starts roading the forest
I'll post the suggested continuation soon.

Here are the suggestions for T47-T50:

T47:
  • I would select Writing as the next tech as I think you want to start library ASAP in Guangzhou for multiple reasons (silver, visibility, cultural defense)
  • Workers at G combine forces and finish farming the wheat
  • I think I like whipping the spear in Shanghai already T47. Double-check that my sandbox is correct though: Your worker in the queue should have 27 hammers in the build. Spear build has 22 hammers before the whip. You also need to work the copper after the whip. This way you will end up finishing the worker next turn at 60/60 hammers.
T48:
  • Beijing whips a settler
  • Shanghai finishes a worker as discussed above
  • New build in Guangzhou: I leave this up to you, but I think I would start an axe here. This is the most vulnerable city of your empire and having a fortified axe and a spear will be a start..
  • At G: One worker starts cottaging riverside grass tile. Another worker heads to the forest SE-SE of the city
  • The worker outside borders moves SE and starts roading
  • I would also move the new spear onto copper and move the warrior from Beijing towards Shanghai. Shanghai needs a military police next turn, but this way you can get that spear to Guangzhou. (I would probably shuffle the warrior at Guangzhou to Beijing so that it can be capital's MP)
T49:
  • Beijing completes a spear
  • Shanghai starts a military unit of your choosing
  • One worker completes the road SE of Beijing, worker outside the borders completes the road --> Settler travels next to the new city site
  • New worker starts cottaging the flood plains
T50:
  • Beijing starts a military unit (case can be made for putting the overflow into settler or building a scouting work boat if you feel farmer's gambit big time)
  • Shanghai is now at size 3 and the city starts either a settler or a worker (let's come back to this, I think you want a settler for furs)
  • 4th city starts a granary (once again early EXP granary simply beats improving the clams ASAP. I mean who needs improved food?)
  • Worker closest to Nanjing starts roading SW of the city (after the worker has completed the road, it will head towards Beijing and pre-cottage the tile SE of the capital and then start building the road to pigs city)
  • Worker SE of Beijing moves to a forest next to the 4th city (first it chops a granary, then it chops a work boat)

I think this will be the last set of my micro suggestions, but it would be nice if you can post an overview pic and demos at turn 50. I'll give you then my two cents about the continuation and start enjoying the show  popcorn

EDIT: Let's see how the location of horses destroys all the plans..

Horses popped in some weird spots. ( one horse popped SE of our proposed southern Serdoa city with the corn )

So border pop in our 3rd city even more needed.

Curious about this:
"At G: One worker starts cottaging riverside grass tile. Another worker heads to the forest SE-SE of the city"
Going to chop the forest Southeast of G to deny it to Noble? is that the plan with that move or..

Capital will pop 3rd ring borders eot50, which helps and works quite nicely. So on T48 one worker moves to the forest SW-SW of G and helps building the road to the 4th city as planned, but let's change the plans for the other worker. So instead of cottaging I would do the following with the worker:
  • T48: Start roading NE of G
  • T49: Complete road
  • T50: Pre-cottage W of G
  • T51-54: Pasture horses
  • T55-56: Road horses
  • T57-60: Cottage the riverside grass
  • T61-63: Road the silver

Two last items to be aligned with border pop in G as you will want silver online as soon as possible

Almost forgot to swap around Shanghai to work the copper mine.
