Amica introduced me to the "Minimize pop-ups" option; it makes all those screens wait untill all units have been moved.

We got Christianity in UXMAL!! A well-developed city with actual production! And it came with a free missionary, which is wonderful! I wasn't sure where to send him, and I chose Lakhama because it has decent foodhammers, is only 3 tiles away so I could spread it this turn, and needs happiness badly. I adopted Christianity this turn but I think we should wait and swap to OR next turn and get started on missionaries. OR costs 7gpt in additional civic maintenance so I don't want to adopt until the cities are ready to start.
Spreading religion to Calakmul requires a galley, but our peace treaty with GKC might allow the galley to get back in position in time, not sure.
Sure, that northwest jungle spot seems OK, but I'd rather take the southern gems spot because it has similar benefits while being a more secure site with more defenders, and it can leech off Oxhuitza's food. I think the gems at that northwest spot would be more difficult to hold on to. Sorry we didn't have time to discuss it, but I sent the settler south instead of north.
I wish we'd packed in another city on the northern coast, since it would have helped work some of the good tiles that Xupui can't handle because of happy cap. Xupui will be a great city once happiness isn't such a problem.
Potentially getting the pyramids is a pretty exciting prospect! I put the chop into it. Still says 3 turns as of t97 though.
Now we have writing so I set a couple library builds. 3-pop whips could be great for culling our excess population in a productive way. I think Quirigua is an especially good spot since it has gold and double fish without other good tiles, so it can run 2 scientists all the time.
I'm not sure what to do with the chariot near Quirigua. Maybe it should just be MP.
Also, it looks like I'll be going on a surprise camping trip this weekend (US Independence Day), so I'll need you to cover a couple turns. I'm sorry for the short notice.

I forgot that we don't have Math yet. That's why the Pyramids ETA doesn't line up. But we can 2pop whip the pyramids next turn. I think it's worth it.
We should double switch to Rep + OR in two turns when Pyramids are done (hopefully). Then the happiness problems largely disappear.

I also put the meagre overflow into Iron Working. I don't think we even want Monarchy anymore. But we should discuss when you are back from your trip.

I haven't quite left yet! If things go well I'll be able to play t98 later today and post pictures.
2-pop capitol whip does sound worth it. This feels like a unusually late pyramids already, isn't it?
I think Iron Working is a good choice. If we get Pyramids, Monarchy isn't worth Serfdom alone. We have very few farms, so Serfdom won't even become decent until Machinery.
Waiting for the double civic switch makes sense, I'm glad you thought of that, otherwise I would have swapped and then been locked in until t104.

Still around to take the turn? Pyramids are still in play and we can 2pop whip them as expected.
The reason I didn't want to settle the southern gems city is because I didn't want to exposed borders on both ends. But it's fine too. If we lose it it's no big deal and meanwhile the city will turn a decent profit. And of course, we may not lose it.

Played turn 98.

Superdeath came up with this weird deal:

I don't know what clam+crab+fish represent. Coastal attack? This does not seem like a good time to be fighting wars though.
I sent him back fish for fish. Probably not what he wanted to see, but at least I acknowledged his offer.
I whipped the Library in Oxhuitza. It can easily stagnate on specialists to avoid anger, since the new gems city will be stealing some of its food.
I whipped the Lighthouse in Quirigua as you recommended.
Since the whip took the pyramids past 500 hammers already, I switched off some mines.
Here's that area to our south in detail:

It looks like superdeath has settled pretty close on Mjmd's shore, maybe that's what their war was about.

Superdeath likes his cryptic AI diplo messages. Sometimes these resource offers are supposed to indicate the target city via the resources near it. Could be a bunch of other things too. I wouldn't worry about it. Waste of time. You are right that war right now is pointless. We would need at least HBR. Even then terrain doesn't favor gainful attacks.

Should I take the next turn? When are you back?
