[no players] CiVI Lurking Part II: Sophomore Slump

Shouldn't Singaboy put his envoy into Hattusa to Suzerainity there. I don't know how much Oledavy has invested in them, but neither Oledavy nor Singaboy have mentioned the Suzerain bonus.
Hattusa gives you one of every Strategice Resource you have discovered the tech for. So Iron and Niter would be in the bag for Singaboy without having to worry about settling locations.

Looks like Oledavy's question regarding finishing the encampment while The Archduke's unit was occupying it has been answered:

Archduke could still die first but my prediction would still be wrong because of what it took to get there.

Glad Woden was able to show off China. He got helped by lack of competition, allowing him to wonder-spam, but in a "normal" situation he would still be able to get the Pyramids for free and the broken Colosseum.

I tested district pillaging last night in a hot seat match.

You can pillage districts once for each building in them (most expensive first) and then pillage the district itself once. The city details page shows a little fire icon next to the buildings and district when they have been pillaged and their gold/science/whatever yield disappears.

Each pillage gave the same amount. The adjacency bonus was never removed.

Unique districts have the same result as the equivalent normal district.

Pillage amounts:

DistrictPillage Reward
Holy Site25 faith
Campus25 science
EncampmentCan't be pillaged
Harbor50 gold
Aerodrome50 gold
Commercial Hub50 gold
Entertainment Complex100 health
Theater25 culture
Industrial Zone25 science

Aqueduct50 gold

Decided to de-dedlurk since I can learn more quicker from a global perspective.

They do! Otherwise, oledavy wouldn't have had a siege at the end of his turn 47.

Mm, but in that case why doesn't he have a siege the previous turn? He has two tiles adjacent to the city with archers on, two with warriors on, and the other two next to the warriors (and not across a river).

Hmmm... unless it's calculated at the end of the city state's turn rather than the start, in which case the two units produced by the city state would be breaking the siege for turn 46. That would make it really difficult to maintain a siege without every tile blocked.

From following along I understand that the production/research resolution phase happens simultaneously for the players after the last player ends turn (rather than for each player individually as they play and end turn as I recall from Civ 4). If this is the case, does last player in PBEM turn order get an advantage in that they can move units or target attackers, thus making it more difficult for either the first in turn order to maintain siege on the attack or break siege on defense?

The most bizarre thing to me is that the GG cannot be killed. It would make much more sense if it could be target by an opponent and eliminated (probably at the cost of a couple fast movers sacrificed, but still worth weighing the cost).

I'm pretty sure that's not the case. I think it works like Civ 5, where your production phase happens before the start of your next turn. So, turns are sequential, not simultaneous, but they happen before your following turn, not on the end of the turn just played, so input from your opponents can sometimes mess up your expected results.

The east 'continent' amazes again smile
Will we have the third (last remaining) 2 vs 1?

Another war in the east between two reasonably well matched opponents who have both constructed walls. Unless alhambram and singaboy also jump (which they might) in this looks likely to drag on for a while and allow Woden to pull even further ahead.

An unexpected advantage(?) of being a lurker is seeing someone behave like at total ass.
Perhaps one should tell TheArchduke that he really, really didn't get - as he put it - "the worse draw in this game"?!

Seriously. Also does anyone else think that the razing of Frankfurt was a pretty big mistake, even under the assumption that it wouldn't grow unless ceded? It already had multiple districts and there's a non-zero chance that singaboy would have ceded it for peace anyways.
