Got it...

Right, response from Ruff:

Latest demographics - last in most things! Our worker will soon be ready, though, to power us up the charts.

I figured that we should accept an NAP until turn 35. It's one less thing to worry about. Here was my response. He's obviously been doing his C&D.

You can see also that I moved Seven SW. We can move SW-W-SW, or even S first to see what we can see from the hill.

Save sent on. Now, bring on the Ashes!

So, Pegasus went up 3 points. Someone went up 1,000 soldier points. Presumably then this is a population growth.

From the population, I reckon there are two at size 3, plus two at size 1, plus us. One of these must be Pegasus, and the other is Ruff since you thought he had increased a population size whilst building warriors? In fact, that is what you predicted.

Scratch that. Just discovered that 6,000 population is a size 2 city. So two at size 2, and two at size 1. Thought it was a bit odd.

Good job, I'll comment more tomorrow.

Prelim. C&A says Ad Hoc finished a warrior and grew to size two. Some interesting openings here.
I have to run.

Oh yeah, ad hoc not Pegasus. Confusing myself now.

Ok, can't sleep, and Ashes back on after rain delay.

Idly speculating that population is [n^3 - n * (n-1)] * 1000 where n is city size.

1^3 - 1 * 0 => 1,000
2^3 - 2 * 1 => 6,000
3^3 - 3 * 2 => 21,000

That works, so I predict:

4^3 - 4 * 3 => 52,000
5^3 - 5 * 4 => 105,000

Strange progression, but there you go.

Personally, I'd move him S first and go from there. To me it looks like S-SW-NW and then probably SW again.
Played in:
RBPB2 - Willem of Ottoman - 6th/10
RBPB3 - Joao of Inca 13th/17 or so???
PBEM6 - Shaka of the Vikings 2nd/5 (thanks Lewwyn)

Yeah, wasn't sure if that square was a peak or a hill.

Dammit, I've just seen the formula for population posted in another PBEM thread.

It's:

City population = 1000 x int[size ^ 2.8]

So size 4 is 48,000 not 52,000. Ah well.

I went through the numbers again as there were some discrepancies in power. I missed that Ad Hoc completed a warrior on T8 (and not this turn), one turn after Ruff finished his warrior. Apparently Ad Hoc put one turn of production into something else while growing, I guess the only option here is Barracks, as Stonehenge would show up with a production bonus.

This means that the player who lost a warrior on T10 is TT, which I guess is excellent news.

Ad Hoc and Ruff are now both size two, presumably building workers now. They have two warriors each. Pegasus and us have 1 warrior, TT has none.

TT and Pegasus will complete their workers at the end of this turn, we are two turns behind.
I have to run.

Nice summary. Where are they up to on techs?

Incidentally, I presume our slight sidetrack will mess up with your micro plan. In any case, I think you mentioned that you had a better micro plan, although it might change given that it looks like we could easily lose out on the Oracle.

I haven't counted beakers yet but our best guess right now is that Ad Hoc is on Priesthood, Ruff on Agriculture, and Pegasus and TT on Bronze Working. Ad Hoc and Ruff should be ready for new techs soon.

The micro plan is still valid but everything is delayed one turn. Our first worker action will be to farm the wheat while completing the warrior. We might want to work the town instead of the rice if that allows us to complete mysticism and start stonehenge sooner.

I was thinking of making a new micro plan when BW is in and we know where copper is. At that point we should also have a clearer idea of what Ad Hoc is doing. If he shows up with "too much" MFG we know he's started the Oracle.
