[SPOILERS] ALWAYS PEACE? What will Lewwyn do?

Tredje Wrote:If you were to estimate how much of a boost PP would give you, what would that estimate look like?

Depends on how soon I get PP. The immidiate benefit changes, but based on my estimate of 15 turns, which now looks like it'll get broke, I'm thinking I get about an extra 60gpt base commerce + modifiers - maintenance. Considering Cyneheard is making 54 gpt at 0% tech its kind of a big deal. And of course every turn after 15 turns is just more bonus commerce as well. PP effect also snowballs with time.

Now I've got 3 turns of update for you. I was going to try to update yesterday but I used my free time for the WW game instead of updating threads.

T123:

We're going to start with a look at what Cyneheard's doing.:

Here's his settler. AT the time I thought maybe he was going to try to cut up around me. But as we'll see in subsequent turns, he's got other plans.

Thinking about Cyneheard's settling pattern I wanted to share a pattern that I have in my settling. This is somethign I've noticed the entire time I was playing just never connected the dots for you folks at home:

It's a picture of my core and you can see the circular nature of my settling. Mostly this is dictated by the land itself since there were few food resources near the capital. The only city that is sort of messing with my loop is Rabbits and it is placed there simply for the PH and FPs, no other viable site for it. Now the thing is I actually believe that overlapping at the capital is usually a good strategy, and most of my cities do have overlap. Whats strange is that my capital doesn't and I attribute it entirely to the way the map is forcing my to look for additional food sources, forest sources, and riverside sites.

Demos for this turn:

Beautiful GNP. Breaking 500 makes me feel awesome. Shatters what my opponents can muster.

Cyneheard is still being super annoying with land points. And it does get worse in the coming turns.

T124:

So what is Cyneheard up to now?

He's settled that settler he had moving around.

Oh and:

That's ominous. He's got a Q moving south here. Towards what?

Anyway the turn passed so we get to behold my GNP spike in all it glory:

Har Har Har.

Demos:

My pop is really getting up there. Very satisfying. Though I assume that my pop is much higher than Cyneheard's because he has been whipping more again.

Beyond that nothing more than similar domination demos.

T125:

Welcome to a new era.

And here we have Cyneheard at it again:

That's another settler... I deleted this Q after this picture because he's just too far from home to be worth it plus he was costing 1 support. I gained 2gpt by deleting him.

But that's not all:

lulwut!?
Actually I'm not that surprised. It's what I would have done. As a result of this a whipped a Settler in a nearby city so that I can claim my sugar. I'm not too worried about losing the corn down here. The city needed to be here. I'm even going to finish farming the corn because I will enjoy a bunch of turns of 6 food before I lose it.

If you've been counting at all this brings Cyneheards total to 30 cities I believe. I'm only at 28. So yes he is building more cities than me. I can't wait to see how his GPT is suffering. For now he is at 0 gold and 0gpt meaning he has the slider turned up. My gpt is at 177 (178 EOT) at 0%. That almost 100 more than my next rival Scooter. I'm betting Cyneheard's is in the 40s at this point.

What does this mean for my tech rate? It means 2 turns of gold + 1 turn of 100% tech will finish Machinery and I can start putting up windmills. Then Alphabet>Paper>PP. I'm excited for alphabet so I can actually see for sure what my opponents have teched. I will say this, no one else has hooked up a calendar resource. Hell the last fur still hasn't been hooked up yet by either Nakor or Scooter.

Demos:

Nice. 344 is my 0% tech rate. Still up 30 in MFG. Broke 500 in food. Cyneheard must be whipping more settlers/workers.

I am building more workers I'm looking at an additional 4 in the next 2 turns. Currently at 39 workers.

Land, bah.

Pop I'm up a full mil.

So what is Cyneheard up too? He's going big. And I believe his attempt will be to out expand me and then restructure and try to catch up using a bigger base. Won't work though since I'm A) not about to stand still on *good* expansion, B) Already ahead in beakers and out teching him by almost triple the rate. Let's go spaceship.

Nakor is trying to expand:

Next turn I start turning up the tech again. Really excited to build windmills. Also, more workers being whipped.

Demos:

About what you'd expect. I don't know what Cyneheard has his tech set to since he has 16gpt and I don't think that 0%. Its probably about 10-20% in order to finish off a tech and start getting gold again.

Everything else is similar to last turn. I'm still growing core cities and whipping outlying ones. A couple cities have +4 whip unhappiness. lol

What's so great about windmills?
I have to run.

Want to keep up food and commerce production over hammers at the moment. Plus they look good. lol

I'm not planning on giving up building mines in certain spots but I'm definitely still at the point where I want cities regrowing from whips than banging out production.

I think right now thats the value of a windmill, lots of worker turns and very low return, beter with farms amd and forget about hills...

I think Windmills are really only worth building on a large scale when you're Financial and have Electricity already (or are Financial and building them on riverside Hills).

Yes, they are indeed situational. No doubt about it. Also they only come into their own later in the game.

I'm still waiting for the next turn. :/

Damn I've neglected my thread. Mostly because I started updating the 21 thread. I'll attempt to sift through my screenies and present the last... 4 turns, I think. Maybe 15-17 pics.

T127:

I have machinery EOT.

Border with Cyneheard and Nakor:

I'm closing on that city on the Cyneheard border here. Keeping tabs on Nakor here. He got those flood plains, but really? I don't care that much. alright

Cyneheard's gpt:

80.

Demos:

The only really interesting thing is Cyneheard's still expanding crazy like.

T128:

Nakor cities are far apart:

And he's only just getting a worker to that new city. He was in a hurry to build it.

Okay here's something annoying:

Effffing Cyneheard. WTF. He's going to try and settle around me? Luckily he's too late and I can settle it next turn.

Demos:

Well Cyneheard's extra cities are beginning to produce more Food. He's finally beating me in Crop Yield.

GNP is still crushing. That's me and Cyneheard at 0% tech.
I just got 235 gold from one turn of gold. I will be able to tech Alphabet next turn at 100% with it.

T129:

Settled my block on Cyneheard:

Okay you can turn around now Cyneheard. Also just for that I'm going to cut you off up top:

Real soon. That city grabs a ton of forests, a rice I can chain farm and an extra flood plain. I'm going to try and build North and West from here and chain some cities to cut the edge of Cyneheard.

Also I got Alphabet:

Heh, heh, heh. When I saw this I was relieved. I seriously didn't realize how far ahead I was in tech. Cyneheard is NINE techs behind me. Granted a couple are fishing and sailing, but he still doesn't even have Iron Working here. Nor does he have CoL! No courthouses!

Neither Nakor nor Scooter have MC nor do they have hunting, fishing or sailing.

None have sailing so i have to imagine they have to build a ton of roads to connect their cities.

Demos:

The most interesting thing here is that I've lost top position on Crop/MFG/Pop/Land at this point. Yeah I'm getting beat there. But GNP... I'm so far ahead... COME ON PP!

T130:

Let's start with the t130 info:

I have:
44 workers
2 settlers
29 cities

Just FYI, Cyneheard has 31. Go go my settlers!

Speaking of Cyneheard and settlers, the north is free and clear, but the south:

WTF Cyneheard. You have GOT to be kidding me! You're going to go past my city line to settle a city with one worker that you can't send other workers to behind my lines. It will be a HUGE drain on your economy. Please please go as far East as you can and settle it. Please be an idiot.

In other news, Cyneheard has finished teching IW. 8 techs behind.

Demos:

I've evened out the MFG closed the gap a bit on pop. Crop yield will improve as I settle cities.

GNP is holding strong even with this new city in the south.

T131:

Cyneheard's still going! :

LMAO!

I settled Owls in the north and finished the terrace at EOT with a prechopped forest. The maintenance is around 11 gpt, but I was still getting 230 gpt and jumped to 249 EOT.

I took another screenie of this but I can't find it. I also can't find the Demos, but I'm not sweating it.

Cyneheard finished Fishing this turn. Overflow from IW I'm betting. Probably Sailing next and Calendar after. 7 techs behind.

I collected gold this turn but I could have finished paper at 70% instead. I decided to keep pure binary and get more gold first. I'll go 100% tech and overflow into PP. It shouldn't take too long to finish it... I'll find out for sure after I finish Paper next turn.

Also I've decided on a path after PP. First Education to begin Unis. Then I'm going to grab Aesthetics>Drama>Music for the GArtist. Then I'll take Philo>Lib take nationalism. I'll tech Feud>Guilds>Banking>constitution.

Now I'll probably start a Golden Age when I start teching Feud so that I can speed tech through those last 4 techs and then switch into Rep and Mercantilism. I'll grab the GM from economics and use him + a popped GS to start a 2nd GA when I'm getting closer to Communism which'll be my next goal.

This is the rough outline I've come up with. Basically I'm popping 2 GS over this period. The first will go into my Oxford city. The second will be saved for the second GA. GA's are going to be so freaking powerful on this map. So many cities so many towns, so many river tiles. I can definitely get more out of a GA then I can using the GM for gold and the Sci for bulbs. The hing I am considering is using the first GS to bulb Education, the second GS for the Academy and then tech physics for the GS to use with the GM for the second GA.

Then again the game might be conceded by that point. rolleye

Why Nationalism? Any hidden reason. For you to know i falow your therad very close.

I'd say it's for the Taj, and it's on the way to Constitution anyway. Not risking delaying Lib for a bigger prize?
