Lewwyn is on the List - SPOILER THREAD

I didn't take a pic last turn, but its mostly a continuation of before. Bob is going to settle the choke between the 2 silver. He brought up a settler with TWO archers! He's very careful of me, but then I did let his scout see my axe hiding in the trees there. So he knows I'm not defenseless and he knows he needs to defend.

Silver is being worked which is great for econ. The Lucio settler is going to get to Moira a turn earlier than I'd planned. Also I think the worker might not go on the boat. I might send it to the second silver to mine after it finishes the chop into the galley.

I need archers... I may go masonry>archery>priest>writing.

Bob has planted his city down there.

That is an acceptable plant IMO.

Hey look at that:

Circumnav should be a couple of turns. That's great.

Everything is fine here:

Galley is good, settler moving to it. A couple island cities will be fantastic. Tech feels reasonable! I have 4 cottages being worked. And still need one silver to be mined.

YES! Budda spread in Orisa thank god, or the Enlighted one at least. That's going to get me the sheep in the south that I couldn't pasture in the second ring. Also, barracks or monastery next in Orisa?

I think I need archery for defense even though Demos say:

I'm #1 power.
I want archers on my islands and in my Bob border cities. Also Superdeath side.

I want a lot of stuff, I wonder what I'll get.

Circumnav is next turn I think. And island settling is 2t away in the north. I hope SD doesn't have a galley with which to send units to that island and mess me up. Other island city is maybe 8t and I think the other SD border gold city is 8t out of Rein.

I'm working on Stonehenge or fail gold in Lucio after the settler. Either would be good. I really expect Stonehenge to fall soonish, but maybe I'm wrong and everyone is being rushed into expansion trying to keep up with me.

GLH will start in Cap t68 with overflow from the Cap's lighthouse whip. I will then do a second 2 pop whip of a worker (that is currently losing hammers in queue because I messed up and put a turn into it 10 turns ago instead of a settler when I changed my mind). But then I think 4 chops should help get GLH I haven't planned the exact timing of it yet.

I started a barracks in Orisa, but now looking at it... maybe I should have been building an axe. I want barracks there eventually though... I'm pretty torn. If I get Stonehenge then I don't need to aggressively spread buddhism yet. But if I don't I'll have wanted to do a monastery and get missionaries going. I also want more archers out of Orisa so starting an axe there that migth not finsih when I switch to a worker and then archers was my reasonign for starting a building. Orisa needs to grow onto some mines, and I need to get those mines built so it can really build stuff. I'm still low on workers. But when Orisa hits size 5 I can just build workers for a bit there with horse wheat and sheep and the PH mine and FP cottage.

Got circumnav:

Yay! That's going to really help the tech. Drags me back up to 40% breakeven. Settling an island up north next turn. And starting the GLH which a lighthouse whip next turn. Also Stonehenge hasn't fallen so I'll put some more hammers in there for fail gold or maybe I'll get it? Probably not.

I really need more workers. I'm still running just 5 workers atm. Orsia at 4, Lucio after stonehenge and maybe a cap whip into GLH are all possible Worker spots. It's kind of amazing I'm doing this well with so little but that's changing now with my desire to chop out GLH.

OB with NoGas and SD, cool. Going to run my scout through SD's land and my WB through NoGas. SD is definitely settled way south and is in a bit of danger of having that bottom city cut off. Rusten's power is up higher than mine a good bit. I wonder which way he's thinking of swinging. If I'm him I don't think I come after me as I'm not sharing a straight border. I haven't settled up on him and I think he understands that. He's much more likely to go after SD or Serdoa who have wardecced him, or bob who has a gold on his border.

Tech in second place at 0%? Yes! that's a very good sign. TRs are about to get boosted too by the island city. Feeling pretty good about all of this.

In case anyone curious, I'm spending a minimum of 30 minutes on every turn and often an hour just staring at the cities before or after sending on the turn. It's very meditative. Then I also spend a good bit of time writing my thoughts here in my report. I think kall of that is translating into a pretty good game. I'm hopeful.

So I settled Symetra on the island up there and also found a second stone island next to it. If I can I will try to settle that stone. The island is equidistant between SD and I. If I'm quick enough I can do it. The Gold border city is the priority however and I still need more defensive units to guard all this land I'm settling. I finish Archery in 1t at 50%. Those cheap archers should be useful. Only Rusten has had a higher power than me, but I do feel a bit thin. The problem is finding a way to build everything I want to build and military has unfortunately fallen slightly behind in priority. But that island city being empty is bothersome. I will try to get an archer out of Rein after the settler and spear there to get there... maybe the archer has to be built in Symetra itself. I think I can grow and whip an archer there. It delays development but it feels necessary since all the other cities have higher priorities.

So I'm settling cities and I'm going after 2 wonders. Stonehenge is 2t away now! it will complete EOT69. So if it doesn't fall in the next 2 turns its mine. That would be a COUP!

The capital has whipped its lighthouse and has like 35H overflow to put into the GLH. I'm going to grow to 5 over the next turn, resume the worker build and 2 pop whip the worker for more overflow. Also I will start chopping forests around the cap. Have I left the GLH too late? I hope not.

Orisa will grow to 4 and then build a 5t worker. After the worker I can whip another settler and then grow on archers or military.

Heya! #1 in power? Oh I just built a galley and I just teched archery! That might be helpful to give enemies pause.

Food is good. MFG is fine.

GNP BABY!
Settling Symetra was a net positive boosting my tech a good bit. Settling the second island will also be awesome. Basically every city is going to be positive after the second island city I think. And after GLH? oh yeah... Gotta make sure I get GLH. Would NoGas go for it? I feel like they should be trying for Oracle, but maybe they aren't? I was first to sailing, but I guess that doesn't mean squat against an IND civ. NoGas only has 6 cities. I have vision on 3 of them, all coastal. None have lighthouses yet. I'm sending the WB to find their capital since if its coastal that's likely where they will build it. I should have vision on it in 2 turn if my guess is correct.

Also I guess Serdoa is a dark horse for GLH too since he's PRO. But he's also only at 5 cities and probably feels pressure to catch up right? Or does he only have 5 cities because he's going for the GLH? Heh I run in circles here.

I can't wait to get currency and maybe 4 island cities. If I get GLH that's 4 3c TRs per coastal city.

Report on t68, I hope we get another turn today...

SO to start here's Rusten's stuck warrior:

He got trapped after Bob settled his city. I've got an axe and warrior there now covering the mining worker.

Also note my galley with the settler is on its way to the island. Great. I'm a bit paranoid about not having a unit defending that city. But I think I have a few turns before its trouble. I'm considering a 2 pop axe whip in Moira with the overflow being used to finish the granary. Need tot grow the city to 4 first though. The other option is a 1 pop whip granary, but that feels foolish. Another option is whipping a worker to help chop the other stuff.

SD's got a galley:

There's also a WB under the galley. So what's the deal? Probably a settler is on the galley and he's planning on settling the stone island and using the WB on the fish for the island. Does he have a unit with the settler? Does he even have a settler? Symetra is undefended and I can't get a unit there faster than an archer whip in 5t. Now SD has a settler in his capital a scout and a chariot in Xian. I have a spear going to the PHgold border site. and I will start a settler in Rein. The question also is, where is that capital settler going? is he going to settle those furs? Is he sending the settler to the galley and the galley is empty? I'll give SD the stone island that's fine, I have the other stone island I'm trying to settle already. In any case SD's power is low, he's got a lot tied up in Rusten defense. I *think* I'm safe.

Stonehenge is mine if no one builds it this turn! Yeah I had to micro out the final hammers to get it done in this last turn, but I'll sacrifice a couple food to do it. But man getting this would be amazing for all my cities. I haven't built a single monument and I've only gotten 3 religion spreads. Basically I've been planting all my cities based on 1st ring resources, which is not a bad thing to do ha.

GLH is looking like a t75 build. I'm planning to chop 5 forests into it with 3 of them coming on t75. The city will put a turn into a worker next turn, then whip it, overflow around 30+ H into GLH. So yeah we'll see, but maybe I can do it? I highly doubt Bob, SD or Rusten are going for it. Serdoa I don't know enough of his land, but he's also got FIN so I don't know if he feels like this is a huge need and where his priority should be. NoGas are IND and they have a new island city this turn. At least 4 coastal cities, 5 if the capital is coastal too. I think I'll get vision on the capital next turn. If they have a lighthouse there, I'll be real worried.

My tech is good. I will be able to continue to tech PH, Writing, and then math with this tech goodness. Then get me to currency and that'll be interesting.

Should I go direct for knights and run down Bob?

T69 nice.

SD had a settler and a worker on his galley and dropped both off. I think I could get a unit and raze his island city before he can reinforce it. Maybe even the archer from Symetra. Do I want to make a full enemy out of SD? I'm still in my expansion phase...

My exploration of NoGas has revealed that Solaris Temple has built a lighthouse this past turn. It wasn't there last turn so they are in the race now. There are 5 forests around the city. I'm betting Noble has a plan to chop all 5 into the GLH. The only question is how fast will they do it. I mean this fits with a noble game. Tech writing gets OBs, get the GLH after OBs, profit. So can they and will they beat t75. My guess is yes they can, but I'm not sure if they will or not. It depends on if they lined up all the chops with workers ahead of time or not. The city has had a monument for a good long time so its definitely got the second ring. Yeah I bet they beat me to it. I got that feeling. I have priesthood. Can I get the oracle built instead?

The Big News:

I got the first wonder of the world YAY. Stonehenge is great for me! All these cities I've been settling without monument and without religion. I'm very happy.

Demos:

So do I mess up SD's island city? I want to and don't want to. I mean if I make SD an enemy for life I will have a hard time consuming BoB. And SD getting that city makes him stronger against Rusten and NoGas. NoGas will tech to phracts and likely consume SD. I'm better off not making him an easier meal. So no. Let's expand and eat BoB instead.
