Assassin in the Palace 3 - The Return of the (ashamedly few) Dead Guys

Are we really leaving it up to Tasunke to choose AGAIN?

Lewwyn did jog my memory about one post.

It's though that Gazglum is probably asleep right now. His play today is very scummy, though, so it's hard to move from him. It doesn't help that I'd be lynched then.

He posted that towards the end of last day, and it seems a little like he's already positioning himself for the next day. Not necessarily a scumtell, but still a bit suspicious. Want to comment on this, Ichabod?

I don't know what you want me to comment. I'm not at all confident of my guesses and we are reaching a key point in the game. I've been in similar situations before in WW games and most of the time they don't end very well. Doesn't help that I feel like I'm talking to myself most of the time.

We are giving a free pass for the assassin to just wait until a villager cracks up and break this tie. Than this villager will be lynched and so on. The assassin doesn't need to move anymore, if we don't start trying to find him. And I think we need to do this early in the day, not wait until deadline.

Lewwyn is probably my best guess as assassin, but I'm not so sure about it to make this a 5-one-vote tie. So I'll join Rowain on Bigger. I haven't realized in my previous reread, since I was focused on other things, but Bigger also kept his "personal vote" on one player for the whole game, which is Zakalwe (awesome place to hide). I wrote personal vote because he also grabbed the chance to put termination votes on some candidates, putting them ahead enough that the discussion stops. He claimed he thinks this is how we should play, but that doesn't help at all.

Besides, I feel Bigger starts participating more in the game when he gets votes.

First paragraph here is scummy. "I don't have much experience but lets all push everyone so its clearer to me who the king is." This paragraph just feels like the equivelant of a meta post in our normal WWs. Wolfabod at his best.

Second Paragraph, I'm his best guess but he's not willing to vote me because it would tie us? But shouldn't he be trying to push me then and explain why I'm his best guess? Instead he goes after Bigger? And his reasoning is Bigger will participate more with more votes? I'm just not buying it.

I was trying to kickstart some discussion with my play, since half a day passed and we only had 4 loose votes on different candidates and no discussion what so ever. And I think I succeeded with it. That being said, I don't have a lot to say about your accusations. I had already explained what I thought was suspicious about you yesterday and my mind hasn't changed much. I could pinpoint a bunch of stuff that you've said and create a case, but there's no point in lying to myself and the others (which seems to be what you are doing here, just creating a strong case out of nothing meaningful - not saying that's a scum tell, because villagers do this too). In the end, it's mostly gut feeling.

And Bigger played just like you for the whole game, with the plus of sounding more defensive. So I think he's a good target. I'd vote for Lewwyn, Tasunke or Bigger right now, but I think I'll wait to hear more from Bigger and especially Tasunke before saying anything else.

Having thought about this some more, I think this usually happens when I start to second guess myself all the time.

Changed my mind on bigger. Something I thought was a village tell isn't.

Why is the lack of a villagetell enough to push him higher than Ichabod?

Yeah... that's an unexpected turnaround from being 100% sure it's Ichabod.

sigh. so frustrating that no one will help me lynch Zak. I'm about 80% Zak/20% Ichabod at the moment. Might switch to Ich if I can't get anyone to join me on zak.

There are 2 ways to play assassin, I think. You can just try to fit in as a guard and survive as long as possible, hoping to scratch people off your "king" list. Scooter did this, and almost won - but that isn't how Zak would play. The other way is to be aggresssive, push for lynch candidadtes )multiple ones preferrabley), and use the information you are given with people's reactions. If you are confident in your puzzle solving skills and your ability to read people, this is better. I think this is how Zak would play Assassin. If he looks like normal villager to you, that should be evidence he's scum - Assassin is very similar to WW villager - in that both are missing the information and need to find it (In this place, the king instead of scum). Zak is normally a good villager in ww, and he's playing a great assassin here.

If you reread day 1 he is prodding - pushing for information with every post. He's actually rather agressive and obvious about it, I can't believe I'm the only one that caught it. When I called him out he changed his behavior, being more content with just accepting the community lynch. For a few days anyway. See the "oh well, maybe its rowain then" post after slowcheetah's lynch.

Today, I think he seems he's close to victory, with only 5 guards (potential kings) left alive, and he's gone back to his day 1 play. see post #161 which is blatant fishing (hey guys, is Tasunke the king? Is Ichabod? is Lewwyn, or Bigger?)

Maybe you are right. But then what do you make of Lewwyns play?

I don't know. this is a weird game. you are the only one alive not coming off as scummy to me right now. I didn't expect to wake up to 2 pages, and I'm not sure what to make of lewwyn or Ichabod's play today. or tasunke he's disappearing act, either.

I am still kind of mystified with why Lewwyn would make this his final post of the day, if he's innocent. It makes more sense as a final fishing attempt, if he's the assassin and felt like the net was closing in. Although I was really more inclined to vote for Ichabod or stay on Tasunke until he made that post.

on Lewwyn: I'm a bit confused too, but on second thought it doesnt seem like a scum tell to me.

Like any good guard, I'm intentionally not giving too much information, and being vague in some posts. Lewwyn is attempting to read between the lines, as you would expect. He found some old post of mine that previously he thought was a town tell, and is now interpreting as a scum tell. He's wrong, but me voting for him would just be revenge voting, and its too late in the game for that crap.

that only makes sense if Lewwyn was close to being lynched. Only Ichabod was voting for him at the time, and Ichabod is still the most likely lynchee, so I don't think lewwyn had any real pressure. I think its more likely you are using the incident to see if we are willing to lynch Lewwyn, as Lewwyn is probably one of your candidates for the king.
