Gogogo farmer's gambit...

What we're up to...

We found Wall St. T62. We'll have two workers cottage the FP the same turn it is founded. Stimpy heads to the gold next turn assuming it is still safe. Thinking we can probably delay the axe at Moria (to get better OF) and whip at sz 4. That way we can start working the gold once it is improved (work GF until then). The demos...

Clearly we are the only ones NOT doing a farmer's gambit. lol

Shall we move Ghandi into the jungle next to that city?
Let's force Gavagai's hand, I'm pretty sure we can defend ourselves with axes.

Or do you think scouting is better?

I am pretty sure he can get an axe into the city if we DOW (so would only lose Gandhi who does have a promotion). He definitely saw us coming (passed one of his warriors on the way in). We know there is someone else on the landmass (our EP greater than his) so given the circumstances, I think scouting has higher value. We want to DOW in force and letting Gavagai run light on military now works to our advantage. Think PB8, but with us in the attacker's role.

The web we weave...

The power graph showed Gavagai completed an axe last turn so my intuition was right. Would have been pointless to DOW. We are saving gold for one turn and will then turn tech back on to get Writing in 1t. The OF was too good to waste on an axe (when Waterdeep should build units since it is towards the front line)...

Although I have an axe in the queue after the worker, probably better to grow on a library. We can have Waterdeep provide an axe for the horse site and Redemption can build the settler for the horses after the worker and library.

I agree.
Put the overflow in Redemption in the worker, then regrow on a Library and build axes elsewhere.
Then we can whip another settler at size 5, overflow to finish the worker.
We do need to get that gold connected asap to get our cities bigger.

Dont know if I agree with cottaging the Sugar... there must be better things to do with the workers....

The worker will only have 1t left when we reach Writing so we might as well finish it. We had a spare worker turn so I put 1t into the cottage (even though we probably won't finish it, or at least any time soon). I could have just skipped turn but not wasting worker turns is a hard habit to break. Both workers are going to cottage a FP next turn.

Well hello Sian!

The demos before we found Wall St.

Probably need to save gold and turn tech back on once we have the library up at Redemption. We'll have our first cottage done in 2t and the gold will be improved in 4t.

I agree, let's get that cottage and gold connected before going back to science.
Don't forget to change EP's to Sian.
Do we know if Gavagai and Sian have contact yet?

Shouldn't we keep research visibility on Gavagai? I was thinking 50/50 split for EP. Sian's graphs probably won't be terribly useful so waiting to get them shouldn't be that big of a deal. The EP suggests Gavagai knows one other player. It might be possible someone is located south of his capitol but the most likely answer is that Gavagai got contact with Sian's scout relatively early.

Sian and Gavagai have met. You can see it in the F... screen.
Sian has already teched Writing. We can offer Open Borders to him.
Let's get graphs on Sian first and then go back to Gavagai with EP's.

I think we should whip the Axe in Moria and put the OF into either a worker or a Library. We're working two unimproved tiles there! cry
Or we can wait untill it grows to size 4 (3 unimproved tiles! crycrycry) and then whip a Settler.
