The save is with me. I received it this morning but wasn't able to play before work. ETA is about 6 hours from now.

Sorry for holding the save, fell asleep yesterday, and will only be able to play about 6 hours from now

Quick reminder that I'm travelling on Thursday/Friday and will then be in the UK for 3weeks. I'll have less time/inclination to play while I'm away, but this game will be near the top of my priority list and I will try to maintain a pace of turn every 2days.

FYI, I'm at a wedding this weekend - departing tomorrow, back on Sunday evening. Probably won't be able to play during that period.

I'm guessing the save is with Dreylin? No rush, just want to know where it is.

Last email on the tracker was Dreylin to GJ 3.5 days ago. Since GJ has posted in his thread since then, I am speculating that he forgot to send it on after playing.

Ah, looks like that's the case. I just sent it along.

Any case y'all would be willing to accept a concession? You're so ridiculously far ahead by this point that it feels like a farce to continue this game.

Here's my opinion about concessions.

You always have the right to stop playing a game, even though joining the game in the first place implies some sort of commitment to playing it for a long time. In particular, if a game is interfering with the rest of your life, I am very supportive of wanting to prioritize that. This can take the form of asking for a sub, or in some cases, conceding.

If you want to stop playing a game because you're not having fun or the game is not interesting to you, then I urge you to make sure you understand why you're not having fun, or why it's not interesting, first. Was a game fun because you started off initially not knowing whether you would be the winner or not, but then as the game went on, it became clear that you would or wouldn't win? For me, at this point, I've mostly stopped caring about who wins the game, and find it interesting to see what happens in the game. What techs get beelined, what land gets fought over. How quickly is someone able to mobilize a defense. What can be done to make empires defensible on a toroidal map with seas. What small victories can you earn from a disadvantaged position?

As a person being conceded to, I would feel I had no choice but to accept it. But as someone doing the conceding, or shall we say as one of the players not being conceded to? No! I signed up to play a game and I probably still want to play it. Things are still happening even if I already think that a particular player will win. This isn't like a chess tournament where someone's keeping score, and determining a winner is a main goal of the game. We're spending what, dozens or hundreds of hours on it. It's not worth doing at all if it's just to decide who wins. Hopefully, the reason we are investing this time into the game is because we enjoy the experience. And hopefully the enjoyment isn't contingent on winning because only a small fraction of players get to win.

If you really aren't enjoying it, and you understand why and it won't change, then by all means communicate that fact to potential subs or maybe the other players.
