Well, to the degree that I've outlasted 8 other Civs and possibly at least 2-3 more (Nyles, Adrien, boak) also dying before me? Then yes.
Though with dtay just taking cities from Ichabod, that may have given Adrien a reprieve. Just like Ichabod attacking Adrien gave boak a reprieve. So that's quite a bit of chaos happening right now.
Because right now, I just can't build military quick enough to take out cities from boak fast while also keeping up proper defenses against Gavagai. I've had to leave and put new units in those border cities with Gavagai, when those units would be so much more useful on the attacking front.
As for the city, in case you were curious...here it is:
If I can get it to grow a couple more times, it can take a cottage from Wellington, and there's that Lumbermill'd Dyes off to the east that another city is currently working that it could also take. So if it survives long enough, it can certainly become even better. Still trying to decide when/if to replace that lumbermill with a plantation. It's had the lumbermill for many many years, since I only just got Calendar a bit ago.
I've also been trying to figure out what to do with the 14 Workers I have. I have very few tiles left to improve, so they've mostly just been building roads all over the place. Does anyone ever disband workers simply because they don't really have anything to do? I'm certainly hesitant to do so, but I just don't know what else to do with them.

If you don't mind the unit expense or the time needed to do it you can use your otherwise idle worker turns to prepare tiles for easy swapping from one improvement to another. Say you have a city right now that is focused on hammers, but maybe you'd want to surge its growth, you could pre farm a few eligible tiles to within one turn of completion, so you could finish it all at once if you wanted to. More likely is swapping other types of improvements over to workshops, like if you need to pick up an odd hammer or few here and there to change an item in your build queue from 2 turns to 1 turn. This is all the diminishing returns kind of effort though, so it may or may not be worth the trouble for you. I spent the most time doing this kind of stuff in PB8 when I didn't have much to do with my workers, or all that many tiles to manage, but I found it to be useful enough to be able to flexibly adjust the improvements to stretch a hammer/food/commerce here and there to make it worthwhile.
One side effect of this kind of activity is that my map is often full of signs like k1, f1, t1, etc., (workshop/farm/cottage 1 turn from completion) that really clutter up screen shots. So that's kind of annoying.

Lurkers may want to confirm amongst themselves by asking in people's threads, but I think there are currently some complicate turn splits going on which are causing delays. I don't remember right now exactly who needs to be waiting for who, but this is what I know:
Myself & Gavagai are still at war with boak. So we need to play before him.
boak & Adrien are at war. Adrien also plays before boak.
Ichabod & Adrien are at war. Ichabod playing after Adrien.
dtay & Ichabod are at war. dtay playing after Ichabod.
So I think it may actually really only be the 3-way split of Adrien->Ichabod->dtay that keeps holding up the game.

So I didn't have time to report and still don't, but last night while I was quickly playing the turn (as I only had a few minutes) I noticed a stack of Knights and a few other things that Gavagai has gathered to my NW in his borders. So his attack looks like it's finally coming.
And my assault on boak has been going nowhere fast. After I took that last city, I've had to spend time healing and rebuilding catapults and trebs so that I can take the next city. In the meantime, boak has formed a huge stack of CKN's, Pikes, etc inside that city. I'm currently VERY slowly bombarding it's defenses while more catapults and units continue marching to that front. Though that simply leaves my other front with Gavagai under defended and likely to fall once he attacks.
On a side note, I'll be in Costa Rica with NO internet from May 12th through May 17th. At this point, I'll still be alive at that time and will need someone to play my turns. Just giving a heads up.

Ok, looks like my game just might be over before May. Gavagai already took a city from me. And the cities all around my capital have like no defenses. So he'll have the #1 city in the world shortly. Oh well, it was fun while it lasted.

My capital is now in the hands of Gavagai, my military is essentially wiped out, and I basically have nothing left to do except keep whipping military out of cities and wait to die. So if I'm still alive come May 12th, that's all I need a sub to do.
I do have to say that even after multi-pop whipping Corison, it was still the #1 city in the world before Gavagai took it. So I held that #1 city spot for the entire game after I got that Shrine. That's got to count for something, right? LOL
Anyway, I'll be taking a small break from civ after I'm eliminated. Maybe I'll get back to continuing to try out Civ V or finally get my Uncharted 3 game started on my PS4.

This coming Thursday is when I go offline for 5 days. So if someone can simply log in, whip what you can, and end turn, that's all I'm doing. Gavagai is steamrolling over me and there is nothing I can do at this point. I'm just happen that in the meantime at least two other people have been eliminated before me.

I can do that. Basically, whip mil and hold in place?

Yup, that's about it. LOL. Feel free to do so at any point during this week too. Since my only time to play this week will be late evening/night EST. And the earlier my turn gets done, the earlier Gavagai can log in, and stuff like that.

I will not have time to play my turn. Please play it for me and from now until next Wednesday. Thanks.
