How did you get that so fast? Lucio makes, what, 11 hammers?

Well I would say it's not that fast of a build. But then I also got a settler out of the city in between starting the wonder and finishing. I overflowed a few hammers from the settler but not many. And growing back to 3 on SH only gave me about 7 hpt. Stonehenge is 120h so I had 2 chops I put into it as well. That means I only needed 80 hammers normal build. I think I put 13 hammers at size 4 in once to compensate for 7 hammers when regrowing and averaged about 10hpt. The final turns I had 7 and 7, but when I grew to 3 I was able to micro the tiles to give me 11 and 11 and get to 120 exactly. Really each turn I was adjusting the tiles to make sure I got the right amount of hammers, but yeah I think it took 8t with the whips. It just catches you by surprise because I also got a settler out and had 2 chops. But I definitely slow built most of it and I wasn't sure I'd get it.

Oh. I see. I thought you built it faster than 8 turns.

T70 I got my Stonehenge video:

That's nice.

Things are heating up:

Serdoa has attacked SD, SD's chariot from Xian went south. Maybe I should attack SD's island. I can probably easily snipe it. I'll have to consider it. If I sniped it I'd want to capture not raze. Even though SD orphaned a seafood to the north. Well maybe I should just raze it in that case.

Goddamn it. Their GLH city grew to 5 and I think that with IND they are getting a minimum of 18-19hpt into the GLH. They've chopped one forest already. If they have math that's 45h, 30 if no math (but they just got a big tech score increase I think so I HAVE to oassume they do. Noble loves getting math quickly). So let's see 1t if production plus probable overflow. lets say they have 70H already. 2 more forests chop by t74 +90H 160 t71-t74 is about 75H so yes, they will EASILY complete the GLH by t74. I can get it done by T74 too, but they are first in turn order. I think I have to give this up and go for Oracle in the cap instead. I think I can get Oracle by t74 as well and take code of laws with it.

I have to make the decision next turn. I will make a final decision based on what I see in the turn, but I think GLH is lost. The overflow from the worker is coming in and I can make Oracle t74 with it or GLH t74 with it. I guess GLH I should have prioritized it more earlier. I did not do a good job with that. Fail.

People got food! SD is one of the top 2 with his new city raking in 7f off a quick fish net. I think I might whip the archer in Symetra and just run it over and kill his city. And take his worker... Take the worker first so he can't delete it! It depends on what he chops... He might be able to chop a quick archer. or will he chop a monument. I have an opportunity because his attention is on Serdoa.

I am sitting on this turn trying to decide whether I should go for TGLH or Oracle. I have to choose now. Both can be done t74. Oracle is not as good as GLH. But Oracle denies other civs from getting it and is more likely to be completed given NoGas's Solaris Temple having enough forests to complete it before me as long as they prioritize it. And Noble's going to prioritize it I think. It's super strong and they are IND and it just makes sense. Effff. I'm talking myself into just doing Oracle... I do not have faith in being able to finish GLH before NoGas. This may be a make or break decision. Maybe I'm just giving up a solid chance to win the game outright... Super torn.

Interesting and fraught turn. First I noticed that Xian's spear was gone.

So I moved back 1N and found it heading to reinforce SD's island. Fine I won't snipe it. I can't reach in time.

Then NoGas has a galley by my new island city Roadhog. I'm taking the calculated risk that its an empty galley given they have 4 cities without defenders.

I decided to go for Oracle, I think its the right call but I hate myself. I'm also worried someone else will snipe it too. AH Whatever! Just gotta try. If I get Oracle I'm debating between CoL and MC. MC means I get forges and I can slowbuild colossus in the cap to defray the Prophet points. Already getting prophet point sin Lucio. Or I go CoL which is a more expensive tech and I get Confu and maybe 2 holy cities and 2 shrines... Courthouses for my expensive maintenance isn't half bad either!! Gotta think about it.

Even at 0% sci I'm currently leading the pack. PRO + 2 islands + circumnav = tech power

The threads have been active today. I'm feeling a lot of buyers remorse like now I think maybe I could have beaten NoGas to GLH. God if I could have I will be so angry at myself.

My bet T73 Rusten chops out Oracle and T75 NoGas gets GLH and I get neither.  banghead

I played t72. No wonders have fallen and I'm really second guessing myself now. I think I should have just gone for GLH like I planned. Gah this decision is really plaguing me. Maybe just too invested.

In any case I settled Widowmaker. No real change to my GNP I think. I will tech writing next turn.

That 90 GNP I think is Rusten who is teching writing like me. Which means he's probably got Oracle lined up to complete the turn after he gets writing done so he can bulb CoL. This was t72, so he may complete Writing this turn. If that's the case I'll get beat to Oracle and I'll have really screwed everything up.

Let's get some dashboard confessional up in here.

Seriously I was stressed out that I had made the wrong call swapping over the Oracle and abandoning the GLH after having dumped 44 hammers into it. But looks like I was right, I didn't overestimate NoGas, I estimated them exactly. I even called that they only needed 3 forests. So while this is a loss in the game and makes them much stronger contenders, it means I avoided being a bigger loser and I was able to turn it into a shot at a different wonder. Oracle has not fallen, but Rusten plays after me. He completed writing last turn. This means he's got a chance to complete oracle this turn before I get a chance to finish it. I need to survive this one turn. In fact, he has already played so the die is cast. Heaven or Hell when I open the next turn. I'm already starting to bank on forges in my newest plans.

SO what's up. I have an archer building in Junkrat and an axe building in Lucio. Reinhardt is grown back to 4. I think I' starting a settler there and moving an axe and archer to the hill for the banana marble site. It's time to secure that border. I hope Rusten doesn't settle on top of the banana. He could easily do that to set the border, get the banana as a 3f tile in city center and then get a WB for seafood. It would be a fine city and I think not to close to me. It would be on flatland though wich might dissuade him. Dunno. I just think its about thime to turn my gaxe that way.

Also after the worker in Orisa, I think I'm going settler there too. I think that settler can go north to the 3rd island so that at currency I'm still getting 3c TRs in coastal cities. But I might wan tto settle the tundra next to the sheep first? Need to decide. In fact the island city up there might not be too necessary immidiately if I've got good TRs from other people. I'll make that decision later.

Overall the cities are growing. I need more workers to help improve the land a lot more. Sadly I'm constrained by my need for granaries and defense. Cottages need to be getting down. I need to whip a worker in Moira and Ana to help catch up.

Still look good. GNP the last 4 turns has NOT included me working the gold because I was growing Junkrat to size 2, ini fact in this pic as well still not working that gold, but I'm starting again next turn. I wonder if with failgold I have enough to blitz through writing and math? Going to turn tech on next turn.

Now I just have to sweat out a few more hours to see if I'll get Oracle>MC>Forges>Colossus.
