Sandover Wrote:I can only remember one time where a player broke a NAP in an RB game, and in that case the offender (Whosit as Rome in RBP2) felt so bad about it that he gave back the Worker he stole and reinstated the NAP. They're treated almost as periods of enforced peace and I'd be mighty surprised if someone broke one without good reason. Personally I'm not a huge fan of enforced peace, so I tend to not sign them for that reason, but when I do I always assume it will hold.
Funny that ... he's the one I'm most worried about, considering his rise in power since the early conflict [of course that could just be techs and he's waiting to build, rather than the troops themselves] and we have "history" now, hence why I gave back the city [also slightly apologetically] and he's done nothing but goad me on the diplo-front since [e.g: 100G for a Work-Boat!?!] and he won't accept Open Borders.

So what been happening since my last update?
EyesLikeYours has been founded. WakaWakaShaka & SheWolf are pumping out the garrisons for there and also for "HipsDontLie" & "AnimalCity" As the economy is failing, the last two are going to wait on their planned sites until Currency complete [2 turns to go] then we'll switch to 0% tech [I really want to go back & complete Construction to get Catas out, but will have to wait]
sent the following message to Kyan when I sent the turn on:

How goes it in the Lord's Men Empire?
We in the Shakirite Empire are currently on an ambitious building program which may cripple us, financially, however, we are close to completing the road from SheWolf to the Cow tile as requested. So, if you are close to completing the promised Missionary, we will be happy to spread your religion [although it pains the ego of HIM] to the other side of our Empire as it will help in the culture war we have with Whovus. If you are yet to meet him, feel free to send someone along our by-ways in a north-westerly direction.

this in from Nakor/Gaspar:
Quote:Goeidedag Ambassador GingerEagle,
While we do not object to the presence of your warrior, 2Pac as a matter of course, we would like to know his purpose. I understand that we did not include a ROP arrangement as part of our Open Borders agreement, but it is generally considered polite to alert your neighbors before using them to... explore? in their lands.
We appreciate your attentiveness to this matter,
Co-trainers Nakor and Gaspar, Totaal Voetbal
I'd forgotten about our 'hero' on auto-explore ... oops ... better move him .. and apologise
Quote:Sanibona Nakor & Gaspar
My humblest apologies, I had rather forgotten about our roving hero. I set him to auto-explore after meeting Tredje and hadn't looked at him since. I will move him instantly.

aaahh .. the turn's in as well .. better play
....
... turn played
umm .. had to plonk down HipsDontLies as there'd be wasted hammers from pasturing the Horses [yes! we'll have Chariots very soon - still waiting for poss names from the lurkers ... thinking about Offiah, after England Rugby Player Martin "Chariots" Offiah, i.e. "Chariots of Fire" .. no link to Shakira, but it's quite funny/clever]
Definitely on for 0% tech once Currency completes
...
and this back from Nakor/Gaspar:
Quote:Goeiedag Ambassador GingerEagle,
Apologies accepted! These things can happen when managing a large empire.
Is your empire growing the way you want? And is the game to your liking?
Kind regards,
Co-trainers Gaspar and Nakor, Totaal Voetbal
Well ... what do I answer here? Any suggestions?

I suppose building enough gold reserves to run 100% science at the back end allows for more libraries to be built by that time (and perhaps a little boost from other civs discovering your next tech in the interim), but it does suggest you are not planing to build markets which flips the science/gold optimization.

well ... actually ... planning a bit of both ... maybe I can found AnimalCity before Nakor/Gaspar's culture gets too far ahead ... hope to switch the tech up to max in about 9 turns

Turn played ...
BIG NEWS!!!!
We have trade!!!
Which means a boost in gold per turn, so, the answer to one of the questions posed in my last post ... yes, we settled AnimalCity!!! [forgot to remove the place-holder]
Sandover Wrote:You really need to get some cottages into play.
Ah, yes ... about them ... erm, how's this?
As these cities don't have many resource tiles to improve, we'll Cottage everything else [well, almost .. CazadorDeAmor also needs Farms]
