[SPOILERS] ALWAYS PEACE? What will Lewwyn do?

Time to start some updates. Going to avoid a massive update because I'm going through 5 days worth of screenies here and will have to update turn by turn... Game by game.

Starting again on the Cyneheard border:

His settler is still moving on up. Education is 2 turns out and at EOT I got my GS. Now I simply haven't decided yet what to do with the sucker. I should probably go ahead and build that academy, but I'm worried I won't get the 3 GPs I need to trip 2 GAs for the two civic swap times.

It does look like Cyne knows what he's gonna do with his newly popped Great Merchant though:

I assume he'll scout a while before doing a trade mission. Eat your heart out. :neenernee

GNP graph:

The last bit it the power of PP. I'm holding steady at 800+ GNP and Cyne is averaging about 4-500.

Demos:

Stopped whipping settler and I'm making progress on the Population front. Downside it Cyne is still settling. I am working on getting 2 more settlers out of my north reach cities. I would love to steal Cyne's lake fish which is directly north of Turkeys and Owls.

I have 2 more turns to update tonight.

Shorter report I've found only a couple screens for T142.

You may actually notice that the screenie of Cyneheard's GM in the previous post is from T142. Whoops.smoke

Additional Screenie for this turn includes another shot of the NE:

Those two cities are prime for whipping. They are each getting 6 and 7 food surpluses. Growing and reading the whip.

You may also notice that my "breakeven" rate is in increasing and I'm getting a bit more gpt each turn. More hamlets are maturing and my infrastructure continues to grow markets and courthouses. I'm almost ready for Unis. Several cities have begun wealth builds as well (3 or 4) while waiting for the unis to be available.

Demos:

Noice. 700 food and I'm tops in Pop. But yeah Cyneheard planted 2 more cities! Maniac. I can't remember if we're even again or not. I'm still bummed about land area because I know we have about the same amount of cities and he's killing me in land with his spread out city placements, though that's also killing him in every other stat. :neenernee

One more turn to catch on a bit later.

Latest turn, T143

We have education and Cyneheard is finally getting his city in the north built.
Cyneheard has NOT teched Music yet. I'm sure he knows I'm not chasing him right now. I believe he has teched drama instead and is going to take Music with the double discount.

Catching up in MFG. Back in the lead in Pop. A good lead on Crop yield. Things feel pretty solid.

Cyneheard is roading east, which I do not like:

Also, he's building cities on my border that are simply annnnoying.

Really Cyne? You're just trying to piss me off. That city will steal a couple plains tiles. Really a bit ridiculous.

Demos:

I've started teching Philo. Started Unis in 5 cities so far.

Its been a good 10 days since I've updated but I only have 3 turns to update, since Cynheard forgot to send the save for a week lol

Update on the Cynheard border:

He's continuing to road East. Blah.

Eastern city plans:

I got Philo EOT. Will start Liberalism so that I am able to 1T it when I finish sandbagging or if Cyne sneaks up on me.

Demos:

Honestly though, my GNP is killing him. Every turn puts a bit deeper in the tech hole. Can't you just imagine him? Screaming as I roll him down the snowy hill. The snowball forms around him and soon only his legs will be sticking out.

Next turn:

Better overview of the Cynheard planned border:

South Nakor border
[Image: Screenshot2011-12-02at70551PM.png]

North Nakor border
[Image: Screenshot2011-12-02at70659PM.png]

You can see the settler there is going to settle next turn. And I have a settler from Ravens going north into the jungle next turn. Gotta grab the pig.

Demos:

For those following these Demos, you may notice a huge increase in Pop and in MFG. Good stuff. Plus double Cyne's GNP. He teched Music this turn finally and got the GA. However he has not popped a Golden Age. I also have not done anything yet with my GS. We'll discuss that in a second.

T147:

Nothing much has changed on the Cyneheard border. I just have 4 settlers on their way now. In fact I have 7 settlers moving in total:

I also have another two that will complete next turn. Also, I settled a city this turn:

Cuttlefish is that nice mirrored spot I stole from Cyneheard. Also you may notice the settler on its way to the jungled pigs site.

Heres a quick look at what my cities are building:

[Image: c2.png][Image: c3.png]

You may also have noticed that Lib is very close to finishing next turn as well. In fact I will be switching tech next turn. I really wanted to go after rep and Merc, but in the end it makes little sense to go that direction when State Property is so superior and really quite quickly attainable.

Next turn I am going to switch to Compass. 1T for that, then Optics, 2T for that:

From here I will begin teching Astro. I will tech 3/4 through Astro then pop a GA. When astro finishes, I tech Lib and take Scientific method. I quickly switch into Free Speech. From there I overflow from Astro into Communism and tech Communism and finish teching Communism with a turn of GA left to swap into State Property with:

Now I'm not sure on the beaker time because I have no idea how fast I will tech in a GA yet. Also of concern will I be able to finish teching Astro before Cyneheard can reach lib?

Cyneheard has to tech CS, Paper, Philo, Edu and Lib yet. So I am hoping I have enough time. One thing of concern is if he uses his GM for a trade mission pops a GA with the Artist and blitzs too fast for me to finish Astro before Lib. That would make me sad. His GM is 1 tile north of my cap atm.

Demos:

I believe top rival is Scooter there. I think Cyne is 429.

IN any case the race here will be interesting. Astro takes me 6 turns to tech right now. Scientific Method 7 and Communism 8. If I can take Scientific method with Lib that would be great. Also these times are at 50% science. I checked this turn and I'm actually gaining 1 gold by running 50% over binary. That was unexpected.

I wonder if Cyneheard and Scooter will play it out to victory. Nakor I know will.

You could always just Lib Astronomy, it's almost as expensive as SM if you account for the lack of a prerequisite multiplier.

Yeah, I was considering Libbing Astro instead but I hadn't considered the lack of prereq discount. That sort of makes the best scenario simply libbing Astro so I don't have to worry about racing.

Silly Cyne is still exploring me:

Additionally settling nonsense cities:

And continuing to road toward me in the north:

I need 3 turns to get my settler there to block him.

Cyne did not tech anything new this turn. I suspect he may be getting gold so he can try to blitz a bunch of techs during a Golden age.
I teched Compass this turn.

Demos look like this:

He's got a bunch more cities than me. But I settled another one just now and have 8 settlers moving.

Cool Turn bro.

Cyne beat me to the fish spot frown

I'm 3T from settling the new city location on the PH as a blocker. Then the other two. I will easily settle the jungle I think. Once these 4 cities are down Cyne will be unable to settle East anymore. And I'll be able to turn my attention to:

Dammit Nakor! His tenacity is annoying. Admrable but annoying. He has had no chance of winning for a long time and yet he's successfully moved in on me in the south and now he's got roads settlers looking to cut me off in the north. I started 2 settlers to send north. I need to make sure I get my fish at least. After that I don't care so much how much land he steals.

Now I finished Optics this turn at 70%. I will set tech to 60% next turn and finish Lib in 1T. I'll take Astro with it and start Scientific Method. When I'm sure I can finish Communism by the end of a Golden Age, I will start one. That way I can immediately switch into Free Speech tech communism in 5t switch into State Property and then just blow through tech to economics for the GM. We'll see where we are at that point.

Demos look good. Cyne is still going city planting crazy. He has many more than me actually. Land area... Oh well Food, GNP and Pop is where its at. Notice 20 mil pop? Oh yeah.

I'm really wondering if my opponents will concede and when? When will they feel enough is enough? I'm perfectly happy to play this out because the turns are enjoyable for me. I would enjoy seeing the victory screen too. I'm afraid Liberalism and Astro might be the breaking point though. lol
