[spoilers] Pindicator and Regoarrarr - Bismark of Ethiopia

So to further "regoarrarr" up the thread (this is 7 posts in a row btw lol EDIT - or at least it was until Pindicator ninja'd me and "ruined" things)

I wanted to take a look at the folks that have not gotten a tech yet, and what they might be researching.

So, to recap

Ceiliazul - Fishing
Brick - Mining
Yuri - Mining
Dazed - Mining
Us - Bronze Working

So that leaves
Plako (starts with Fishing / Myst)
Commodore (Hunting / Agriculture)
Cyneheard (Mysticism / Wheel)
Azza (Mysticism / Wheel)
Krill (Hunting / Mysticism)

Oddly enough, this is the first time I've noticed that we are the only civ that starts with Mining (and thus could be researching Bronze Working right now).

The main things I would suspect would be Hunting and Agriculture, which are both 96 beakers. Now that Hunting enables pastures, it's no longer a "niche" tech, so it could definitely be the first tech of someone who has a pig / sheep / cow in the BFC. We probably would have teched Hunting first had we not started with it. I would expect those to fall in the next 2 turns, depending on whether or not the civ in question is working a 1c tile.

For Commodore, who started with both Hunting and Agriculture, he could be going after Animal Husbandry, or, he could have changed research to Pottery after popping the Wheel on T4.

Krill could be teching AH also, but now that it no longer enables pastures, it doesn't seem like as much of a "research ASAP" tech. Similarly, both the Wheel and Mysticism would seem like odd choices to tech first (though potentially Plako could if he wants to beeline Pottery and has lots of seafood at his start). 2nd tier techs like Sailing and Masonry, though possible for some civs that start with their pre-reqs, would be truly odd.

My guesses are

Plako - Agriculture
Commodore - Animal Husbandry
Cyneheard - Hunting
Azza - Hunting
Krill - Agriculture

Though many of those really are pure guesswork, since obviously I don't know if those civs have corn or cows at their start lol

does Krill lag by a few turns on research because of his later city plant, or would it not matter? I know someone mentioned the beakers queuing up for the first 5t.

Oh good call. I forgot about that. You're paying off already thumbsup lol

So it's possible that Cyneheard, Commodore or Azza could show up with Mining next turn. (Or Krill the turn after)

Yeah, I'm trying to keep up with your spam, but I think you have more posts by yourself than most teams do with lurker help. lol

oh I didnt realize the sandbox would start at turn 0 - was hoping it would show where you guys were already. Is that possible? I guess you would have to worldbuild it and then play all of your turns.

I mean, what's the point of playing from turn 0 - I want to replicate the turns where

I have a few saves from the various turns that we've already played saved locally but yeah, you'll have to replay them.

If you want to know what Seven was talking about

worker->settler, the worker chops the forest SE of the capital and one other server into the settler. Then you can settle on T26. I'm not sure why we've already made the wrong choices for that - unless he's talking about something else

sorry I am pretty green - but since bronzeworking finishes much later than the worker - does he just stand arround in the forrest until the research comes through?

Nah - he pastures the pig. Remember this is RB Mod, where pastures are enabled with Hunting, which we have. It actually works out perfectly, with the pasture finishing the turn before BW, allowing the worker to move to the forest and start chopping immediately the next turn

I was just noting that if you start a settler t0 you'd settle t26.

Quote:Okay from absolutely craziest settler over everything else, I can settle on T28.

And therefore you definitely were not going for the "absolutely craziest settler over everything else." smile Looking at worker->settler probably would have taken me more than 5 seconds.

Well settler first gets the settler out EOT24. So t25 he moves to the forest SE, T26 he moves to the GFH, T27 he moves to the plains hill, and T28 he settles, right? So.... :neenernee
