We did wreck his game by razing his city. It was def worth it though.
I agree with your moves

My view is that it was incredibly cheeky to settle that city with just a warrior for protection. After all, he had vision on our Phalanx all the time.
Had he settled 1s he still would've gotten the gems, iirc the site would be quite decent and he would've gotten the vulture in there in time (we probably wouldn't have attacked anyway). Had we permitted it, our own game would have been in serious trouble, with our 4th city having nothing but pigs before IW, plus the border tension.
He seems unable to see this though, or just doesn't care and wants some fun. There's two vultures on the gems hill now, one c1, the other unpromoted. I left the defenses as they were, C1 Phalanx on the jungle and unpromoted on the FPH. I spreadsheet checked it, and attacking across water he has really low odds to kill even one of our guys. I used the Phalanx on the pigs to kill that warrior, it's on 4.3 now but got 2xp, so yeah. Pyth finished the settler and grows on a Phalanx now, if Grimace remains stubborn we can reinforce. Might also put 3h into a Phalanx in Thucy once it grows on the pigs (coming online next turn, also mine-chopping a hill for the granary).

2 was what I thought but I suppose 3 is still possible. workers are still a little short but the new city gets 1-2

Being cre I really think 2nd ring is not an issue. Is there a phalanxe ready to go there ? We could start getting barb axes now no ?

saw this:
Additional information: Sian settled a city last turn, so he is probably not about to settle one there
I think it might be best to settle 3 instead of 2. Logistics would not really be worse, we can defend it with 1, soon 2 Phalanxes (impi nonsense will still be an issue, but we have good vision on the area), and get our borders up in the area, probably even getting the crab.
The area of 2 doesn't really seem to be contested right now, and the city will profit from a border pop at 3, as it has no food before the rice. What do you think?
Grimace still refuses to accept that he just didn't make a very smart move settling that city and moved NW with his 2 vultures. It's still just them and next turn our borders pop. I'm with 2 phalanxes on the pigs hill, both c1, one at 4.6/5. If he moves N next turn I'll have to stretch to keep up the blockade. In that case he could be able to trade two vultures for 1 phalanx . Going to prepare that emergency whip for Thy

Sian isn't cre right ? Then go for site 3. Troll border city where the warrior is now could be a thing.
With the impi around you have to make sure we don't get caught off guard, you'll have to be careful when moving the settler

Good !
Grimace has every right to be annoyed but he could be more subtle about it. I think you should send another phalanxe there because he's basically been yelling "I'M GOING TO TAKE THAT CITY" ever since we asked for peace.
