Also, if we can't find a mapmaker we could always play on the same map again - full map reveal and knowledge could create some interesting different strategies & dynamics...
With only Khan left to reply, and this entire 2-tiered game being his idea, I suspect it's going to go forward.
I would also strongly prefer a new map. My personal preference is that I'd like a map where it's less obvious who's "supposed" to get how much land (generally a more natural-looking map, though PBEM 65 had a cool setup I liked), but obviously semi-mirroring is much easier to balance, so I won't kick up a fuss.
@Drey: It would be churlish to hand you a rough spot in round 1 and then kick you out of a chance to start at an even position in round 2, though I'm afraid you'll walk all over us .
Would it be possible to take maps from previous PBEMs with fun, balanced maps ? And choose them so that none of us have played in that particular PBEM so we don't start with an advantage. That would probably require less work.

I'm in.
I also echo, in it's entirety, everything pickle just said.
Wow, I honestly was not expecting such a quick turnaround time. I'd be fine with a previous map, a new handmade map, or someone rolling some Torusworlds
