I had Islands there. They were in place of thse odd peninsulas, but I connected them to mainland to make him some more breathing room in the north.

Is there any reason that the map isn't ready to send to the players? Or at least the starting screenshots?

lol @ Krill. His start is grazy good and even as is could be used to get Praets out fast. Maybe not the fastes rush, but you can't get everything. However he'll soon be way happier after moving his warrior SE he spots irrigated rice and moving there should give him alright spot to what he wants.

edit. And I obviovusly forget to add the fog after moving Dazed warrior so he sees gems, but this shouldn't matter much.

I wish this would have gone a bit differently. 3 vs. 1 basically just because of Krill's reputation (well Rome might have some part of this also). They're not considering what is best for them.

Agreed. It seems a bit premature to me. For me war is all about improving my position or defending my position. At this point they are attempting to kill the baby in the cradle while they are babies themselves.

Still won't know what happens till it happens. mh could definitely take advantage.

I don't want to explain myself in Krill's thread, but here are some points.

First of all I didn't put purposefully Krill where he was. Starts were randomized.

Here is the job description to the map maker:
"I'm thinking of starting a game with up to 5 players, NTT, with espionage enabled and unrestricted leaders via snake pick with no bans, no barbs, no vassals, no huts and no events, on something approaching a pangaea map, maybe Big and Small? Ordinary diplomacy allowed as well. A straight forward no gimmicks game."

From this point of view I generated few Big and Small maps. I didn't want to give everyone similar or equally strong start in every rescpects via heavy editing. It seems Krill was in a mindset of Praet rush and was not willing to depart from there despite seeing his start. Krill has and will adapt I'm sure, but I think his start was a bit narrow minded. His main virtue is the significant amount of flood plains. Excellent for commerce and when farmed also reasonable for production purposes. It is unique start in this game. If he really wanted to go for Praet rush and plant just a stronger early game capital he also had option to settle on plains hill and still keep the food resources.

Happiness resources should be quite alright. He doesn't yet see Ivory in the jungle and there is also sugar on his side of the jungle.

So it looks like everyone is mad at everyone else now, except mh. He should be able to leverage the situation by expanding. No ones really looking at him much. And for the most part he's kept to himself. Looks like the smart play.

I think it's more because of the Agg Rome, and the player combinations, with Krill's reputation being a smaller part of it. But yeah, it does seem ridiculous to have so much early warfare in a game that's supposed to test overall balance.

So the culture bonus of the barracks is basically irrelevant.

That's likely true for the Iron city, but look where he's planting the Cow city. He's going to get double cow and access to 5 floodplains with that site. I don't know that he'd settle there if he had to whip a monument.

Dazed should strong arm Scooter I think. Krill and Serdoa are focused on each other mh is on the other side of the map. He's got bowmen. I feel a bit like if you have that early a UU, you should leverage it, especially against Impis.

Then again, I'm the one saying this... I'm not an aggressive cliche! I promise!
