[spoiler] Azza's 5 step program to flawless victory

I have time today, so more pics.

First, demographics.

Looking good, but the other expansive civs will probably have similar food/production after they play.

And I've found some stone.

Going to have to suss that area out, maybe worth looking settling on the stone, and building a henge made of stone out there.

Then again, maybe not a good idea. I might want to avoid trying any stupid gambits for once.

If I'm calculating right, I could cut it to 4 turns if I wanted. But...

[Image: UNUCY.jpg]

Again, if I'm calculating right, my worker complete this road in 5 turns. 2 turns on the desert, and 1 turn left on each of the plains and the grass rice. So cutting a turn off the build time means 1 turn longer in transit, and therefore I should try to maximise overflow into a granary/worker/settler (horse city). I'm thinking, finish the Granary, build another worker, then the settler.

How much food do you need to grow from size 1 to size 2 on quick? Yeah, I'm lazy and can't be bothered looking it up or testing it. Assuming Buddhism doesn't drop this turn, I'll go after it, then Masonry, in which case it might be better to grow to size 2 working the oasis than the (proposed) gold mine, and farming some of the floodplains. Stonehenge will almost certain be slower, but the stone city would be much better off in the long run. Decisions decisions...

Also, I'm thinking a run at the 'Mids might be worthwhile. There's a lot of food, not much happy, I'm not FIN, and I am SPI. Hmm... this could turn into a massive farmer's gambit... well, I guess you only live once! lol Still have plenty of time to think about that though.

14 for 1-2, 16 for 2-3.
If only you and me and dead people know hex, then only deaf people know hex.

I write RPG adventures, and blog about it, check it out.

Also, out of interest, if I research a 2 optional prereq tech, I'm #1 in GNP. 1 optional, I'm #3. No optional, #4.

Actually, with a little more playing around with demographics, since I'm bored, I know the following. (assuming if tied on gnp/mfg/crop, my opponents are ranked ahead)

GNP rankings;
26
24
22
21 (me)
20
20

MFG rankings;
8
8
7 (me)
5
5
2 (who the hell isn't working their cow?!)

Crop Yield Rankings;
18
18 (me)
16
13
11
8

So, someone out there has nothing but a size 1 capital working just their wet corn. That surely can't be good. And from the lowest population on the demo screen, they don't yet have a 2nd city. Whoever that is (based on scores I suspect superjm) they're probably going to struggle.

Commodore Wrote:14 for 1-2, 16 for 2-3.

So, assuming I worked the Oasis, I'd take 5 turns to grow to size 2, right?

Mysticism down, Meditation in 4. So, as long as no other civ founds Buddhism on turn 25 or earlier, it's mine.

Fingers crossed Buddhism isn't founded this turn.

Plenty of overflow going to happen.

Missed out on Buddhism by 1 measly turn. Fortunately, it wasn't a key element of my strategy.

Settler is just chilling on the stone, waiting for the next turn.

Binomial founded on the stone, started a granary (I'm expansive, may as well make the most of it). Forgot to take a screenshot because I'm a derp.

Also, met Waterbat. I believe his warrior came from the southwest.
