Boi, that was close
To add to the slow start I had, lack of horses nearby and the cramped map where our second cities was going to touch culture with closest neighbor, it turned out Ad Hoc indeed went aggressive for harassing me early and further making my life miserable.

This was going to be like sure death to my second city except if Ad Hoc simply turning back seeing my empty city center and my unclaimed horses (nice name btw, fits behavior well so far - who on Earth tries rush with 1 axe??? ). Initially I got chilling goosebumps, but then I realised that things are not fatal. The culture from my just founded religion in my second city was going to pop borders at the end of the turn pushing his axe 1 tile back, so I had time to move defenders there. Ad Hoc played twice to get where he is and could not declare war to set the turn order with me in the second half of the turn, even seeing my empty city.
So it worked just as expected:

Did not wanted to take any chance, I moved the garrisoning warrior from capitol to accompany the vulture and whipped second vulture. Now my capitol is in disorder having its garrison moved out
Lets see what Ad Hoc decides to do. I of course cross fingers that he simply decides it is not worth any more to fight ancient war which will simply have us both crippled when his element of surprise is taken off.
