Is that character a variant? (I just love getting asked that in channel.) - Charis

[SPOILERS] Aurorarcher is fumbling around with his civ

Unique buildings get the same acceleration as the generic.

And yeah, being able to build the WB without fishing is weird - just don't forget that you still need Fishing to work the tile!

Glad to hear that. However, there's no text saying that it'll be built double speed under Feitoria so just wanted to make sure.

Yeah. No need to worry about that here because I start with the tech neenerneener.

I was lazy to sim things out when the save came. Anyway, there was a possibility of moving 1S to get Corn to capital but I decided not to. Losing the gold would suck + with IMP/EXP hammers are important. Ok, I know that's only 2h but gotta love those 7c. I think I'll be able to hit happy cap smoothly even with only Wheat + Fish + some additional poor food tiles. Though I have to farm that marble obviously. So the target is Fish + Wheat + marble(farm) + gold mine + plains mine = 3f + 11h at size 5. At size 6 (growth is very slow with only 4 food) I could get to 2f + 14h. Anyway, at size 5 I can produce settler every 5th turn. That's pretty good. At size 6 every 4th turn, and at size 4 every 6th turn. It might not be worth to hit size 5 right away... the growth takes so long with this amoun of food.

Anyway 2nd city location around Corn might be good. Scout is hooping around that mountain area NW, SW, SE. Anti-clockwise around the cap, sort of.

Demos from T1

Someone settled fully inland considering the 1st ring. I wonder what kind of starts others have because I was unable to do such on the very first turn. Everyone settled on their first turn (presumably SIP) also. Someone is getting prereq bonus for researching Mediation proably, that could be India. India doesn't start with direct improve-your-land-techs (Wheel/Mysticism) so that's probably a mistake. Or then they grab Meditation quickly (8 turns) and then grab Agri (4 turns) right before they get their worker out. Though, another possibility is Inca. I don't think religions in this game are going to play that big of a role, at least the shrines won't give that much cash. India is likely to hit most of the wonders, and that's what I'm excpecting Jowy to do. At least Oracle should be easy for him. Here Inca could also be competent being another IND leader.

WB done, borders popped EoT. Hmm... gems, mm... Jungle. Meh.

I'm regretting not picking ORG. So far it seems that the map is rather dry, not many rivers, cheap lighthouses might have been a good idea... In the east there is promising looking FP, and a city 1W of that or 1NW seem promising.

My 2nd city actually should go to that direction. Double Fish + FP, not that's not bad. Also Cow later. The othersite with Corn in SW of cap is nice (+ Wheat shared from cap) but that alone is not very good especially when the cap wants to use the Wheat a lot. I guess that city could be used as a whip-the-people-to-death-city, but we'll see. I could settle in the jungle to get gems along with those but then I'd need IW which I won't be getting for a while.

Found Sian. His capital is directly south of me... not the nicest neighbour to have "Oh hi there, Mr. Impi!". Getting BW right now feels very good now, I want to find Copper (and possibly also locate Sian's copper).

I put all my EPs/turn on him because why not, you can't save your EPs, right? Does that mean if he doesn't respond to that I'll get his demographis once I'll hit 31 EP points on him. But he can respond to that by putting as many EPs on me meaning the total sum is zero => neither of us gets EPs on each other? Am I correct? It's been a while since I've played with Espionage so I don't really remember the stuff at all...

When you don't do anything EP go to everyone you know equally. So in this case if Sian hasn't met anyone else he'll have 4EP per turn on you automatically. If he's met someone, unless he changes the weight manually he'll automatically put 2EP per turn on you and 2 on the other one.

Hmm... ok, that's confusing a bit. What's the point of EP ratio then? Does that matter at all? Can you answer to the other question as well, the one where I asked whether or not I would get Sian's demographics. Does it depend on his EPs on me or not?

Err, no. You'd both get EP, maybe even equal amounts. Most espionage formulas are written in a way that the amount you need depends on the amount the foe has against you (and total generated ever) - if they have more, you'll find things harder - but not one for one.

For one example, if you both have 47 EP against each other, you will both have graphs. Edit: Or maybe it's 43? Something in that ballpark, anyway.

Okay, thanks. I think that makes... So if my opponent has more EPs (total generated on me) it's possible that I'd not get graphs even with enough EPs (total generated on my opponent), say 31 for graphs.

Also why 43 Mardoc? I think in the picture it says 31 for demos (=graphs). Or does the number change when both start putting EPs on each other?

Found it. Take a look at this thread for more than you ever wanted to know: http://realmsbeyond.net/forums/showthread.php?tid=6235

Since you're playing RtR, you can stop reading after the Passive Espionage section. All active missions were removed.
