Is that character a variant? (I just love getting asked that in channel.) - Charis

Georgia, Georgia.... Emperor K will take Georgia to the world stage.

I thought the obvious naming scheme for Georgia (Country) would be cities in Georgia (State), then again might be too cliché.

Not a bad idea, may have to look some of them up. Never been there.

So, what's good about Georgia? Enlighten us (unspoiled) lurkers. Must be pretty good to pass up Australia...

Nothing actually, however I really wanted to play an expansion Civ.

So we shall see if I can make use of what I got.
I will try to make use of protectorate wars, and getting religion ASAP.

The Golden Age bonus is good If I can get one and keep it so we shall see.

Also hopefully I am not considered the most threatening and will just see how the game plays out.

Other than that until I see my start and scout out my neighbors my only real goal will be to get religion as fast as I can.

Australia is just a team that I played once a while back and just never got into them, I attempted several starts and lost interest after 100 or so turns, the same thing with Indonesia. China is probably really good but has been played several times.

I tend to play the same teams over and over again in Civ games and just disregard the others. With that being said I just do not seem to enjoy civs that dictate where my cities should be, and that Is what seemed to happen with the Aussie's, really fun if lots of pastures and high appeal tiles, not so fun if I had to settle in strange places to get those bonuses.

So with the most experience I have in the EXPO being Georgia they seemed like an OK pick.

Also for a naming scheme I am going to go with things from Georgia like Peaches and what not.

OK we are off and running!

Turn (1)

Here is the start I was presented....

Very nice with a 4Icon_Food and a 1Icon_Food 4Icon_Production tile from the start. However I was not to thrilled with being next to the mountain so decided to move my settler after my warrior did not reveal much.

Well now my start just got even better! Two luxuries and several high yield tiles with plenty of forest for the chopping. I am having a hard time with where to settle though.

-If I moved back to the tile next to the mountain that gives me a more chance of getting my second city by those horses.
-If I settle in place I would have nice growth / production tiles from the start, as well as high gold tiles in the future.
-If I settle on the cotton I won't have to worry about amenities in the near future and won't waste a forest hill.

I am currently leaning towards option two. Settling on the cotton may take a valuable city site near the horses, but most importantly it puts 6 special tiles in the second ring. That in my opinion is not good. Just my luck and the grabber will grab silver, then cotton, then the grain and not the juicy rice and deer tiles.

I will scout a bit more around those cows with my warrior but I am leaning towards settling in place on this forested hill I am on.

Also this screenshot shows the score and everyone else has settled turn 1, so I do not want to wait until turn 3 to settle.

My last screen shot shows the settler map as well as the northern edge of the map.

Looks like there is most likely an oasis (6) of the desert hills tile. Also looking closely at the bottom edge of the screenshot, it looks like the river goes into the fog at least one more tile, so there should be room for another city in the south.

I do prefer to settle turn one but the hill was just blocking what might have been something even better.

We shall see next turn.

Turn (2)

So I decided to settle in place

Like I stated in my turn 1 report, having so many tiles with resources in the second level is not desirable. This settle not only avoided that, it helped keep two very nice rice, and deer tiles in level one. Also should allow for another city in the south regardless of where the river ends.

There is a lake in the west that I can put a city at sometime in the future, as well as fresh water in the east. So far I am very happy with my starting position. I do want a religion and there seems to be an excellent spot for Stonehenge (6) of the stone outside Peeches.

I went for growth at first to get to size two before working the deer tile. Also a scout is needed to get the lay of the land.

Turn (3)

Not much to note

Not that it is surprising, but the score is still tied at 7. I am growing at a good pace and a scout is still in queue.

Here is a screen of the settler map...

Looks like the sea is not far away. I placed some tentative city locations down in the first screenshot. I don't want my warrior getting to far away, with the threat of barbs about.

Turn (4)

A nice lake that has a river flowing into the inland sea

Well there seems to be good land just west of my capital. A little more fog busting before I make a final decision on were to settle next.

As far as build order I am thinking a settler after the scout. I have two good tiles that won't get much benefit from improvement and the horse and stone tiles in the south will.

I would like to get another scout out as well to explore, but I am not sure if the double scout opening is going to pay off. I think I can postpone my second scout until after a builder.
